Yes, I feel like that Sal. Fortunately I've never had to deprive Crystal her emancipation, from 20 weeks old when we all found each other. It must be very difficult being away and then imagining their lonely predicament. But I suppose for some it's the only alternative to arriving home to either a demolition derby, or a toiletry mess? Macaroni has not been crated since he was 7-8 months he will be 2 the 25th. Longest he is left alone 3-4 hours

Hi Animal Charmer - Is your dog a mix? I have a yorkie maltese. I am going to be going to work full time soon and I was wondering how I can get her use to being home all day by herself. I do plan to have a walker in at lunch time.

I agree!

When crating is necessary, such as after surgery, I understand it, but at other times I view it as prison too.

And I have a huge issue with people that lock their dogs up all day, with no bathroom privileges, while they are gone at work and themselves use the bathroom whenever they have need. I don't think you should ever ask more of any animal than you do of yourself.

When we go away we crate Amy but try and be back in 3 or 4 hours. If we can, we take her with us.
