| What do you mop your floors with? Since I have linolium and tile floors, I'm wondering what any of you have found to mop with. I'm looking for something that smells good, but destroys the odor/bacteria of people and puppies. I'm housetraining right now and she's doing real good, but they WILL have accidents. I've been using ammonia - but I HATE the smell. It's giving me asthma attacks. I just dont' know what to try to add to mop water. Any suggestions? Thank you

| Don't ever use Swifer WetJet to clean your floors or your precious babies might be in danger. There have been many test and statistics that show there have been more household pets dying or getting sick from this product. It is some of the chemicals that are in the solution. My friends Westie started getting HUGE rashes on his face and bum while she was using this product for the first time (the only new product she started using.)then when she stopped using it, her baby got better. Weird isnt because this is the same company that makes and produces Dog food!(Iams and Eukanuba) Just a heads up.

http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/s/swiffer.htm I never had a problem with this product but I certainly have had with PineSol and bleach and water. So the only thing I use now is Ivory Soap for the weekly wash and Swifter for the quick ones.

When either bleach or ammonia are mixed with urine (peepee) dangerous fumes are created...it is not good to breath the fumes so make sure you have plenty of fresh air moving thru in the area. Ammonia is especially dangerous. AND never never never mix ammonia and bleach in the same container...the result can be death. I'm using a product called Fabuloso Floor Cleaner.....and it is so great. Smells great and leaves the whole house smelling clean. Smells like lavender....doesn't leave a residue. You can get it at Walmart or your local Dollar Store. And it's pretty CHEAP. | |

| Yes fabuloso is good, they have different smells: green apple, cinamon, lemon, baby scent, orange, lavender, fruit fiesta, ocean wave and others.... a quick tip : when using bleach and not wanting the strong smell of it, if you stick a pine chips in the container it will give it a nice fresh outdoors smell almost like a fresh cut christmas tree, I saw this once in CSI and tried it and it works! |

| I have to agree with Miss M. I don't think amonia is that great, plus if you use amonia to clean a pee spot, the smell of the amonia and pee combined will actually attract them to pee there again. I use Mr. Clean or a Swiffer mop for quick cleans. Don't worry, the whole swiffer thing is an urban myth |
