| Moving Lucy's puppy pads Please help me, I have a 7 month old who I've trained to use puppy pads exclusively and she is great at it. It's been just me and her and she has had her own room were her puppy pads and kennel had been set up since she came to me. A few days ago my youngest daughter and her 2 children realized they would need to move back in with me taking Lucy ball out of her room and upsetting both her and all humans routines. I'm trying to move lucy balls pads like one room every 2 to 3 days to their new final location but she is not using her pads at all. I thought that she had trained to the pads not the spot. Her pads right now are literally 4 feet from where they normally were. I live in an apartment complex that ppl don't obey leash law and many large dogs run loose so Lucy ball must use pads for her safety ( she weighs 2 1/2 lbs) im so confused anyone know why my Lucy ball has taken to using the floor instead of her pads. No one has moved in yet. I was preparing her. Thanks in advance |

| Welcome to Yorkie Talk. Change can be difficult, you have my sympathy. I would move the pad to the new location that you have chosen for Lucy Ball. Put up an xpen around the area, and keep Lucy in it with her pad. Limiting freedom and supervising during training/re-training is key. When she goes on the pad, praise her profusely and reward her. Increase her freedom and roaming room as she demonstrates that she is getting it.

| When I had to move my pads to another location I moved them about a foot every 5 days. It took a long time and you may not have the luxury of time but mine had to learn slowly to go somewhere else. Good luck, they are a creature of habit.

| Hi and welcome to YT. I love Lucy ball's name. In the beginning I moved Buster's pads around and caused him confusion. I learned restricting and rewarding is the best training method, Kristen's advice is spot on. Also clean the areas on the floor/rug where she has pottied with an enzymatic cleaner as the scent will draw them back to that spot.

| They get very used to a spot and to change it your going to have to do it very gradually not room to room but spot to spot untill its at the location you want

| An inch at a time & she'll never notice it. That's how I did it. Good luck.
