| YT 2000 Club Member | What about pee pee pads. The ones with the scent in them. I trained my boys on those and I hang one outside and they seem to go to that instead of the fenced in yard. I do have the belly band but so far JoJo has not had accidents. You have to be firm and take him out often, and give him a treat when he does pee outside. I finally trained my boys after much time spent. Still once in awhile I get some pee under their crate when I leave them. Just hate to see my go. |

| Yorkie Talker | I use a large dog cage for our dog. It gives him enough room. I have a pee pad on one half and a bed on the other along with toys, food and water. He has only ever pooped in the cage once (the 1st night). And now at 8 mo he almost never pees in the cage. He will cry when he needs out to pee. He sleeps in there and is also there during the day when I am at work. He doesn't mind it. If you give them a larger cage they are more likely to poop and pee far from their bed.

| You mention rugs...my furry buddies can't tell the difference from rugs to pee pads. We don't have any rugs here, only the rubber kind in front of the kitchen sink, they don't pee on those. We also don't have any carpet, all laminate & travertine...they pee on carpet too. Maybe try removing the rugs to see if his bad peeing habits get better?

| All good ideas to ponder. I canceled the dog shirt and will work on this. A very large crate might help for when i cant b at home or cant keep an eye on him. might remove the rugs for awhile too. Send them out to b cleaned! |

| Zabuza - How is it going? We started crate training ourselves on 8/20 and it's early being today is 8/23... but my 14 week old is doing VERY WELL! We are no longer using our Iris pens as our main area - - we're using them to make the den or kitchen areas smaller for play / hang out time so he can't quickly run to a corner of the room and have an accident - - we want him in eyesight at all times during "free time" and not only have we only had accidents the very first morning (and of course that's when we left the room for a split second), we have had zero accidents in the crate, had no need to use pads (we went through 100+ pad changes LAST WEEK!), and are quiet during the day, sleeping through the night (with one potty break at 1:30am) and very very very happy!!! Grass is still scary to us (we're using an outside concrete patio), but we're sooo happy we started to crate train!!! Hope things are going better for you |
