| I paid $550 for my Yorkie and he was worth it. After checking pet stores and seen Yorkies for $1400 it seemed pretty good deal. |

| My two came from a broker, my husband purchased both of them and he had no idea what a broker was. Neither did I. One was $950, the other was $1,100. I have spent thousands for surgeries on the that cost $950. However, I don't regret anything except for the pain and suffering he has had to go through. There are times when I watch him walk that my heart breaks. I love these little babies to pieces, but my next Yorkie will be adopted from a rescue or a shelter.

| I haven't adopted or purchased a yorkie yet, but from looking at multiple websites, the average seems to be $1250. |

| YT 2000 Club Donating Member | Adopting from a rescue or shelter does not in any way guarantee they will be free from health defects. In fact there are no guarantees, at best there are good breeders that breed for health and test their breeding stock, and know the health lineage. But even still stuff can happen. So many genetic or thought to be genetic conditions are polygenetic have no genetic tests for so the best a good breeder can do is test that this dog(s) are clear of A B or C.

| We paid $1,300 for Bentley. Breeder was CKC registered, had a good history and reviews from other dog owners, so we went with them. Got the full pedigree on the little guy, so not too concerned about him (had some issues in the past with another dog we had and inbreeding) There were two that were available, the other one was $1,500. We got a "discount" on Bentley because he has a slight overbite. It's actually pretty cute now because the tip of his tounge sticks out just a bit. |

| I paid $450.00 for Lola but she is a mix and I have been very pleased. I also was an experienced yorkie owner having had 4 purebred yorkies prior, three came from show breeders where I paid between $1,000.00 to $1,800.00 for. When in search of new pup I knew I did not want one under about 13 weeks old, Lola was just shy of 17 weeks. At that age you have more of and idea of health and size, plus having her blood work run the day after I brought her home was a good indicator as well. Contrary to what many on here will say there are good and kind backyard or kitchen breeders, one's that know their dogs are healthy and have a few litters and treat the puppies and their own dogs very well, it would be better if dogs were kept until 12 weeks though, but even reputable breeders will at times let them go earlier, I know that because I was given the opportunity to take one home at 9 weeks. price is not the only indicator that you bought from a good and kind breeder.

| $600 for my baby girl. AKC parents, the breeder does not advertise (only give to family, friends, referrals), was referred by his nephew (whom I worked with). Awaiting the AKC register papers for her currently, should be anytime from now till early next month. Contract says I'll have full registration, but told them upfront she's getting fixed No breeding, no showing.

| We paid $550 for Ginger. She will be 11 years old next month. We paid $325 for Maggie, but she was the last of her litter and had a hernia, so we got her for 1/2 price. We also had to sign something saying we wouldn't breed her. Luckily, her hernia was small and closed itself up. We confirmed that with 2 different vets. Maggie is 4 1/2 years old now.

| Sophie Kate was a rehome so there was no charge for her, however she was not vetted when I got her and she was also ill so there were some huge costs. When I look at the differenct prices people have paid I guess I am fortunate but I know with my next one I will pay for an experienced breeder who meets my standards.

| Mickey was $700. Dudley was $1000 and the runt of the litter. He was sick a lot but I dearly loved him. Mickey is going to be bigger. He already weighs 4 pounds at 12 weeks but he is very happy little guy. Both were AKC registered.

| I paid $800 for my first yorkie, a 'designer breed' mix. I should have known better, I didn't want to spend the money for an AKC because I wasn't going to breed him but I didn't understand all the other things you pay for when getting a reputable breeder pup. He had/has lots of health issues which have cost me thousands of dollars over the years. Of course I love him and wouldn't trade him for a million dollars but when advising people I would say don't be afraid to pay a little more in the beginning, it'll be worth it in the end. Also if you don't care about AKC you should adopt, cute little yorkies are in need of good homes all the time!

| I paid $650 for my Zoey. Got her at a very young age, but she's doing wonderfully. I saw both her parents and she's AKC registered. Her breeder is a small home breeder and you can tell that she was given lots of attention. I have no regrets yet, just hoping for the best with her health as she ages. |
