| HELP, he has got his 1st grudge!!! so far Lefty's been to the vet 4 times for shots and checkups and stuff and he's good. his vet loves him, between patients she comes out to play with him (*she has two yorkies at home*) when he gets on the table in the examining room and she begins giving him a lookover he gives her lil kisses and plays with her, BUT once he sees the vets assistant, he starts growling and barking at the assistant!!! i really don't understand why he won't let her even touch him. at the last visit the vet asked her to leave the room and just let me hold Lefty when he was gettin his shots, because she was making him CRAZY!!! i really felt bad. Lefty's been around my family, friends, even other animals and he's FINE with them, he's never showed any kind of pushy little attitude or aggression. the vets assistant is just the ONE person that he doesn't like. has anyone else ever experienced this? WHO drives your yorkie nutty?!? and HOW do you fix it?!? ~Cielo

| Yoda doesn't like certain people. What you can try is to get a favorite treat of Lefty's, and let the vet's assistant hand-feed it to her. It could be the assistant's smell or something that Lefty doesn't like, but sometimes treats can work to bribe a Yorkie. |

| Zuzi won't even look at the vet Zuzi had so many bad experiences at the vet she hates going. She was mauled by a Chow and had to spend a few days at the vet. Needless to say it's a struggle bringing her there. It's kind of funny because the vet, who is the sweetest man and likes her, likes to call her princess. Zuzi will turn her head any way she can so she doesn't have to look at him. She's OK with the techs, but not him! They are like people, sometimes we just don't like someone. Does there really have to be a reason???? |

| Dogs sense certain things and I truly believe they have an instinct on good and bad people? During a trip over the weekend Schatzie was touched and close to many strangers. She seemed fine with everybody EXCEPT for this stinky dirty rude man in a wheel chair. Schatzie and I were taking a break on a park bench enjoying the warm day. This man in a wheel chair came up to us and stopped to talk. At first things were fine, but then the man got rude and I tried to be polite in my signs of "trying to ignore him." Soon after that Schatzie turned around to him and growled and barked very meanly. The man kinda got snotty towards her and she only became more angry at him. I don't know if she sensed me not likeing him or she knew on her own, either way she wanted that man away from her. Luckily my husband showed up and kindly removed us from him!

| I also believe dogs have a "6th sense" about some people that we can't pick up on. Don't reinforce your baby's behavior by allowing her to act nasty to anyone, but I wouldn't force it either. Sometimes I think a dog's intuition is right on target.

| Bodhi and I have been visiting the park up the street for the past week. He's very wary of 9 out of 10 people who say hello to him. But the one time he noticed a girl getting out of her truck, he happily started towards her. She had her 2 labs in the truck kinda barking. After talking with her, we learned she was a vet's assistant. I thought that was kinda cool that Bodhi picked up on her being a "dog person". |
