| ![]() He is Adorable. I think his coat looks perfectly normal for his age. Often times the white hair is fluffier & a bit diff in texture then the colored hair & this may be the diff between him & his siblings. Whatever the case I think you are worrying for nothing. Just give it some time & I bet you will see, he will have a Beautiful coat & as someone else said, more then you can keep up with. Then you will look back & laugh that you worried it would be too thin, lol. |

All beauty is really found inside and I believe that is true in dogs. I am so thankful he has you for his owner. Love him and watch him become a beautiful dog inside and out! |

| ![]() Love him no matter what. If when his coat grows out you still are not crazy about it, buy him a playmate and try again for the coat you so desire. He'll be needing a BFF anyway!

| ![]() If he has hair that thick at his age I would venture to guess he is going to have more than enough coat when he matures. Keep him on a quality diet, make sure he gets his Omega 3's, keep him parasite free, and his coat will develop as well as his genes allow. He has a good start. The rate of development can vary. People who show their dogs do want a good coat to start out with but they have to take other features into consideration as well. Long show coats require a tremendous amount of work to develop and maintain. An experienced show/breeder has a number of tricks in their bag to make a not so great coat appear faultless in the ring. By the looks of those coats your breeder does not have too use many of them. |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | ![]() He's so adorable, but really, have you ever read the story about the ugly duckling? It's really applicable here. Puppies with silk coat don't look as poufy and cute as those with what your breeder calls hard silk, but I think they actually have cotton coats. Silk coats look thin on puppies, not ever poufy, but they grow into gorgeous adults. Forget the looks, do you have any idea how hard it is to take care of a cotton coat, they mat all the time. Now a puppies coat will mat, but a silky coat usually outgrows this by a year. Cotton coats will mat all their lives and you really have to be dedicated to keep the mats out. I think you are the lucky one, and I'm shocked your breeder isn't keeping this guy in her breeding program. The others don't have the correct hair, and hopefully they have gone to people who have lots of time to dedicate to grooming.
