If he has hair that thick at his age I would venture to guess he is going to have more than enough coat when he matures. Keep him on a quality diet, make sure he gets his Omega 3's, keep him parasite free, and his coat will develop as well as his genes allow. He has a good start. The rate of development can vary.

People who show their dogs do want a good coat to start out with but they have to take other features into consideration as well. Long show coats require a tremendous amount of work to develop and maintain. An experienced show/breeder has a number of tricks in their bag to make a not so great coat appear faultless in the ring. By the looks of those coats your breeder does not have too use many of them.
