| ISO: Shorter snout yorkie/Korean yorkie look, any leads? So I'm ready to buy my pup. Before I contact breeders from the YT breeder list again maybe someone who recently purchased their pup can tell me where they purchased there's from. I want a shorter snout aka teddy bear like face. Not too short where it looks fake/sickly but shorter than the fox like snout. The breeder elite puppies website has puppies with faces I like but none are available. I prefer silky coats, and a steel blue/tan color but color is not as important as the look of the face. I would like a five to six pounder but would consider a four pounder. Any one with info of breeders, or websites please post here or private message me. Must be able to ship to NYC. If anyone knows of a Korean yorkie breeder please let me know. Thanks. |

| My only hope is that you put as much into the health of your pup as you do the looks. Looking for just the right look is ok, but if you do it and don't look at health you can run into a problem. Good luck in your search!

| Great health is a given. I will ask that person for the necessary test and guarantees. I don't want a beautiful sick dog. |

| I don't really know how many people here are going to recommend a breeder that fits that criteria. Too short a muzzle and you will for sure be looking at long term dental health problems.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I always recommend going to a YTCA member, the qualities you want are well within standard; they can breed smaller snouts and still be within standard and in fact, standard rejects a long snout. If you go too short, be aware that the dog may have more breathing problems and tooth problems, but it's fairly safe to get one with a small snout. I recommend YTCA breeders because they are more likely to be breeding for the right reasons, they aren't breeding to make a buck, but because they truly love the breed and want to do right by it. Of course, even then you need to do your homework and check out the breeders and understand because of the high demand, they are looking for the best homes to place their pups, not the most money.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Actually, she says she doesn't want "too short" of a muzzle, the other qualities, silky coat, blue and tan and weight between 5 and six are well within most good breeders desires.

| Yea I'm going to contact them again. Most don't have websites so I have to bulk email everyone all over again. I will do that eventually but was first checking here if someone off hand, through experience knows whom to go to first. I don't want too short that the puppy would have oral issues. |

Here are some breeders from New York: Dog Breeders Map List- The Yorkshire Terrier Club of America Some may have websites, but they NEVER sell from a website.

| but why would there be Korean breeders on YTCA? I don't like the idea of a puppy being shipped, and I esp don't like the idea of a puppy shipped from Korea. Would it be in cabin with a courier? I'm sure she can find a dog that fits her criteria right here in the US don't you?

| elite-puppies.com looks like a broker to me and brokers get there puppies from puppy mills and byb's. If you are that set on what you want the yorkie to look like you really need to look for an adult. I would also be worried about to small of a snout and breathing issues. I would stick to the standard yorkie because reputable breeders will not breed for nonstandard things because they are breeding to better the breed which means they are breeding to make puppies look as close to standard as possible. With weight the only way to guarantee size is to get a full grown adult. I also would not get a yorkie from where the pup needs to be shipped that can be VERY stressful on a puppy unless it is ridding in the cabin with a person and puppy mills often hide behind fancy nice looking websites.

| And this was exactly why my original post was to say no one here would recommend a breeder to those criteria.

| What is ISO? I'm not sure why you're associating short snouts w/Korean breeders...I hope it's not from the korean puppy mill photo-shopped pics. If you prefer the shorter snouts, they call that babydoll faces. I would NOT get a pup from a breeder that advertises as such, but there are lines that have that look you're looking for, like Durrer. So you might want to look for a reputable breeder that has the Durrer line. I would stay away from elite puppies (if I got the website right, they're in Webster, MA?). From their site : We have access to the following breeds: *Pugs *Puggles *Maltese *Labs *Golden Retrievers *Boxers *Bulldogs *Boston Terriers *Mixes *Teacups *Yorkshire/Yorkie Terriers *Chihuahuas *Dachsunds *Lhasa Apso *Havanese *Wheaten Terriers *And Many More!
