| [QUOTE=mimimomo;4380438]What is ISO? I'm not sure why you're associating short snouts w/Korean breeders...I hope it's not from the korean puppy mill photo-shopped pics. If you prefer the shorter snouts, they call that babydoll faces. I would NOT get a pup from a breeder that advertises as such, but there are lines that have that look you're looking for, like Durrer. So you might want to look for a reputable breeder that has the Durrer line. I can answer this. It means In Search Of.

| Donating YT 30K Club Member | When I was looking for another yorkie, I wanted the standard silky coat and smaller features and 7 lbs or under. The only way to guarantee this is to get an adult. I got Pixie at 13 months and knew exactly what I was getting. Many breeders will hold back puppies to see if they will mature into show prospects. If they do not, they will then sell them. I agree you need to make contact with each breeder individually. I spent close to an hour talking to Pixie's breeder before she even told me she had Pixie.

| Have you looked at the Yorkies that show breeders have? It seems baby doll like faces are very popular with the show dogs. YTCA is a good source of reputable breeders but I don't know if they have their contact persons up yet. AKC has some very good Yorkshire Terrier breed clubs in your area. I would suggest you go to the AKC website and click on the club search tab. Do a search for a conformation and a breed club in NYS or NJ. They have breeder referral people who can direct you to breeders that they know. Read all you can and do your own investigation of the breeders. Find out the right questions to ask. Go to a show in your area. It is a great way to see the type of Yorkies that are out there. These breeders usually have pet stock to sell and if you are wise and pick a good reputable breeder you will have a little doll to take home and love. You may have to get on a wait list but they are well worth waiting for. Breeders that come up on a google search are puppy mills and brokers in disguise. Please don't support these animal abusers. They are great at making websites that look like they have a wonderful playground of healthy pups to sell but it is all deception. Last edited by gracielove; 01-24-2014 at 07:33 PM. |

| Thanks for the responses. I will check out the current leads I have and might wait for the breeder I like to have puppies later this year. I have emailed a few breeders and waiting for responses. Thanks to the pms I've received and if anyone else knows of a breeder specifically with available female pups either three months to five months now or soon to be three months please PM me. The first website I referenced was wrong when I double checked it. I have since found the correct website. Thanks. |
