Birthing infants is so much easier than birthing puppies. I have personally delivered over 25 babies as a midwife student, in the US and in third world countries, and I can say that even with a language barrier, I would prefer to birth babies instead of puppies. Get real. There's a vast difference in a 140 pound woman pushing a 7 pound baby out of her body than a 6 pound dog pushing out 4 4 oz puppies.... And in marriage or relationships, there's often a commitment. You know your significant other hasn't strayed, however the STD testing is still done. With a dog, you have no idea where that dogs been, other than the other owners word. And well, people lie. Especially when money is involved. Best advice for the OP, if she decides to go through with this is a mentor. A good mentor who can teach her what she needs to know, how to properly judge a bitch and a stud, research lines, and what to look for in pregnancy and whelping and beyond. If she refuses that advice, then she will be back here or somewhere else asking for help when her beloved dog has a puppy butt hanging out, with a water sack broke and is drowning in its own fluids and can't go to the vet because she doesn't have the money. | There seems to be a growing epidemic of people calling some YT members 'cliquey'...just bc some of us think differently & have opposing beliefs doesn't make us 'mean, judgemental, snarky, old timers that alienate new comers' group. Just like some of you who have people behind the scenes PM'ing you & supporting you, wouldn't that also make you all a 'cliquey' group of your own? I've witnessed this b4 here not too long ago, it's like dejavu, it's really sad that this keeps happening! This is what public forums are about, opinions will come from all kinds of personal experiences & beliefs. Take what you like & leave the rest. Learn what you will & spread the knowledge. I see this going on all the time, some people telling others how things should be done, pointing fingers, being judgemental themselves...I don't see any snarkyness going on here except the person saying there is. If someone is out of line, a Mod or even friends/ other members will step in. Maybe if you all put down your judgemental thinking towards the 'cliquey' members, maybe we'll all get along...or so I like to think & hope. I also think it's absurd to compare a human's pregnancy to a dog's! We HAVE choices (it's called free will), they DO NOT! WE make the choices for them! BTW, Gemy is a very respected member here, she's truly a valuable asset to this community, we are so lucky to have her. Maybe you all should spend your time looking through some of Gemy's posts. It's full of impressive info, it'll blow your mind!

For me, this particular post gets to the heart of the issue where people think there is 1 side against another side. That kind of thinking is about the most useless, futile, small-minded, tunnel-vision kind of thinking available to us - it gets us absolutely nowhere. If you're reading this and you are one of those people who pit 'sides' against each other, please know that this kind of thinking and posting is hurting the DOG in the end. There is *nothing* to be gained, ever, by attempting to pit sides/people/cliques against each other.

Yes I have a daughter after being told 10 years I could not have kids and yes I had every test they have to make sure she was ok before she was brought into this world... In fact I still owe $4,000 that health insurance did not cover for all those test!! Yea I get it she wants to replace the children she could not have with puppies because I too did that... I had Guinness and already had my deposit down on Stella before I found out I was pregnant.
