| Keep encouraging her to go to the piddle pad, just so that her tank is running on empty when she's interacting wih you. It can still be excitement, or rather emotional, urination even if all you did was change the tone of your voice, the way you approached her, or even if you're wearing somehing slightly different. It use to happen all the time with us until I slowed down and really, and I mean REALLY paid attention to his reaction. Once I learned his "I'm going to squirt!" look, I analyzed what I was doing. Was I walking too fast? Did my pony tail fall to the side? Too much bed head making me look weird? Did I raise my voice to high when talking to someone else?... And as soon as I saw that "I'm going to squirt!" look, run to get a cookie, and ask, "hey Kaji? Wanna go pee-pee?" A quick pee, even if its just a teeny tiny squirt, followed by a treat and praise and maybe a pat or two (while still on the pad, in case he squirted again). I know it sounds silly, but until you find those triggers that are making her emotional enough to well, wet herself, then you won't fix your problem. If you study your and her actions in detail for, let's say 2 weeks, and you don't notice any of the above triggers, then your girl is definitely marking. Either way, if you dont want your girl peeing everywhere, don't give her the freedom to roam your house unless you can supervise her 100%.

| Also enzyme cleaners are amazing! I don't know what you're using to clean, but if its normal carpet/floor cleaner, we as humans may not smell the pee anymore, but those puppy noses sure can.

| It sounds more like a form of incontinence. I would take her to a specialist to have her checked out. It is not normal for a dog to pee that way and it is apparent she has little control over her bladder. Sometimes the muscle that controls urine does not develop correctly. A specialist may be able to help her. Check into a veterinary college in your state. |

| I want to forewarn you that the move may also throw everything off. Gizmo had no issues potty training and is not a marker but when we moved he was very confused and practically needed to be retrained. The new house may be the perfect time to reinforce and/or set new rules or try new things to fix this problem. |

| She wasn't recently spayed, right? Luma showed signs of regression right after her spay but we stayed consistent and she got back on track. Reward her any time you pick her up and she doesn't pee....if she starts to, put her down on the pad and say "go potty". Having them able to pee basically on command is extremely helpful. My girls know "go to your pad" and "go potty".

What you could try, is this; get the treat ready and have her at the potty pad...you said she pees when you pick her up, hold her under belly and lift her up and sit her down quickly on the pad and keep repeating until she goes on it and when she does give her the treat. If that doesn't work set up a small playpen with just enough room for a bed and a pee pad, or pee pad holder tray and stick her in there. Watch her in there, everytime she goes on the pad go over and give her a treat and praise her and don't let her out until she's done it. Keep the side door of the pen open when you do let her out so she can find her way back to it and use it again. Has she always been difficult like this or is this something that is just started? | |
