| At the pet store do you pick/clean up your pets potty Do you pick up after your dog if they potty in the pet store? We always have, Callie only did it when she was a puppy and would get very excited to see people and pee. Sammy used to poo if he got really scared when my mom first got him but he only does that at the vets office outside now but he used to do it at the pet store now he normally just pees onetime but we still clean it up. Well we ran into the pet store to grab something last night and there was a very large breed puppy who was very excited to see us so after asking if we could say hello he peed out of excitement well it wasn't even as much pee as Callie used to pee so it was not a huge huge mess but we said bye and went on our business and on our way to the register we passed where the puppy peed and they didn't clean it up. There where 3 or 4 of them together and none of them cleaned it up they just walked away and left. It bothers me that people do that and I feel people like that our why some animal people get a bad name. I have noticed in a couple times at Petsmart or Petco where there has been new pee or even old pee mostly dried up its really gross and wrong in my opinion that people don't pick up after there dogs.

| Ugh yeah a lot of people don't clean it up, even in nicer pet stores. The worst I've seen was a big dog puppy was lifting his leg all over an aisle and the woman did nothing to stop him or clean it up. |

| I hate it when people don't clean up after their pets in the store, or elsewhere. Gina has peed a few times in PetSmart, but I have always cleaned it up right away, and used the enzyme spray they have with the towels. I have seen and told an employee about a big pile that someones dog left in the middle of the isle. I feel sorry for the employee's that have to clean up after inconsiderate customers. Cheers Quad & Gina

| Yep...did it today actually!! We made a trip to Petsmart first and then Petco. Within 5 minutes of being in Petsmart, one of them pooped and I had to clean it up...and then Ricky decided to lift his leg at the end of an isle...so I cleaned that up and then as soon as I was done, he peed on a pole and I cleaned that up, even though it was no more than a dribble. There have been times when the first 10 minutes in there is me running back and forth to the cleaning stations bc they take back to back poops and pee's...this is, of course, after we've spent a considerable amount of time trying to potty outside first Despite the various cleaning stations, I see piles of pee everywhere in there. IDK if people aren't paying attention to their dogs or they just don't care. Somehow, it doesn't surprise me though....there are lots of people who don't curb their dog in my neighborhood so why would they bother to do it at any other public place. Sadly, these are the people that give dog owners a bad rap. Maybe if everyone cleaned up after their dogs, business owners wouldn't as strict about pet policies. |

| Charlie dropped a deuce just the other day at the pet store ! First time he ever did that, I was shocked !! I picked it up with a doggy bag, and asked for a spray. Not only did they refuse to let me clean it myself, they even took the doggy bag to dispose of it outside !!! I had only gone in to buy him a few bones, about 5 bucks. I felt so bad I ended up spending 40 in treats ! Now I just have to make sure Charlie didn't catch on to that |

| I always have and always will. At pet stores, walks, at home... it's our responsibility as pet owners to clean up after them. I hate people who don't clean up after their dog. It's one of the reasons why places like Petco smell bad.

| I'm kind of a freak because I don't take my baby to pet stores. If I did and she pottied in there, absolutely I would clean it up!!! I clean up when we go to outdoor places, too, even in the mountains. I absolutely hate when people don't pick up after their dog. |

| When we first got Magnus.. No.. I know it's a weak excuse but I simply didn't know any better. I think that lasted a week or two. After I joined this site and read many posts, I learned a lot of "proper etiquette". I'm very thankful to this site and everyone that contributes. If I didn't bother to research, I'm sure I would've turn out to be "one of those people" that never cleaned up after their pet and everything else that comes with being a "good" pet parent. |

| I believe it is the responsibility of the person with the pet to clean up, or to seek an employee of the store for help (paper towels, cleaners, etc). A pee puddle or poop is a slipping hazard, a gross one.

| Yes and always. Draco has had it it happen only a few times, but now I let him stop at the bushes right before we go in and he's fine. I've only had it once where I met a pup so excited they tinkled a little. I just told the owner "Aww someones very excited and told them where the cleaning stations are." I'm actually surprised Draco that the entire time I've had Draco he's only gotten excited and tinkled once. It was on an older cousin and we had a good laugh because we always make jokes about each other.

| I don't ever let mine on the floor in a pet store or any other store we take them. I worry to much what they might come in contact with, but I do get disgusted with people who do and don't clean up after them.

| I never take Gracie to the pet store. Actually I rarely go into one. Maybe people think there is someone there to clean up after them? Does the store employ someone to clean up after the pets? It seems that if they allow them in there that they would have to have someone in charge of clean up or at least making sure clean up materials are available. To think that people would just walk away from their pet's mess is just disgusting though. They should at least look for an associate and ask for clean up help. Still don't understand the concept of taking dogs to the store. |
