| Did she say why they won't let the dog stay inside? I'm sure they know about flea treatments but just don't want to spend the money on them. Dawn once in a while is OK but it is very drying to the skin. We used to use it on our show cats before a show because it gets rid of all the skin and fur oils and makes the coat stand out much better. Doing that to any animal on a regular basis would cause awful itching and hair loss. People sometimes think of their dogs as possessions that they don't want for themselves but don't want anyone else to have either. Very sad. I didn't think a town existed that did not have dog ordinances. |

| So sad...but yet such a familiar story. I can't tell you how many times I've seen dogs in less than stellar conditions and when the people are asked about the dogs...it's for their kids, or it's their kids dogs...and they can't get rid of it bc of their kids....YET, they don't really take care of it. The worst is when an Animal Welfare agency comes in and tries to cite a person for neglect/abuse of their dog and they try to wiggle out of the charges by saying it's their underage kids fault, not theirs. It sounds like she's got the dog outside because it's covered in fleas...when she could have done exactly what you did...call the vet and they could recommend a flea treatment. I think you did an honorable thing by calling her an giving her a chance to claim and do right by the dog and it was super cool of you to offer to buy the dog from her. If she doesn't listen and just puts the dog back out....I wouldn't be as nice again. If I seen the dog running around loose again, the dog would disappear out of the neighborhood and into a nice home. |

| Sometimes people can be so bad. Never did understand how someone could take an animal and be abusive to it. You have gone the extra mile and have done all you can do for this sweet little baby. I'm afraid that the next time he got loose I would have to take matters into my own hands and find him a new home. I would want to keep him personally but then you run the risk of the owners finding out that you have him and then you could be in big trouble. He needs a good home further away so they can't find him. They don't deserve him at all. Fleas???? Cold???? Outside tied to a tree???? They don't care at all about this little guy. |

| This dog lives in an area where they do not require a license? This town allows dogs to run loose without any charges to be made? I could imagine this if they lived outside of town but I don't know of a town with no laws regulating dogs. Some are now even making laws concerning cats that run loose. If they received on ticket for letting that dog run loose you can bet their desire to keep their kid happy would soon die. |

| I really feel for this little guy. If he is found running loose again..I tend to agree with the others, I'd find a way for him to disappear. This is not something I say lightly as I'm all for lost dogs being reunited with their rightful owners...but really, do you think they really care?

| The yorkie was kept in the house today so maybe she's embarrassed that I have bought him home 2 times and the last time I had her come to my house. I'm hoping that she will decide to sell him---even if I don't keep him, I told my husband that it would be one grand Christmas present just knowing the little guy is taken care of and loved. I have nightmares about him. I just love my two boys so much and just don't understand that behavior.

| If you need someone to pick him up, if the lady decides she will give him up, or if you find him wandering and need someone to come get him. I will take the little guy. Poor thing...hopefully they will keep him in, its too cold outside for the little baby. |

| Hello everyone, I ended up buying the little guy from this lady. I took to vet and had him checked out and heartworm tested. He is using the doggy door and has learned "sit". I gave him a bath today and he was extremely scared. The vet cut his nails and said that he would need a very patient groomer. I could not use the blower to dry him as he is really afraid of noises. I let him air dry. With a soft voice and lots of kisses he survived the bath. He is so loveable. He just wants to sit on your lap. He is also very active at times and LOVES the toys. I'm still looking for a stay at home mom for him. I wanted someone with a fence for him but my husband reminded me that we didn't have a fence when we got our yorkies and just maybe I'm being a little overprotective after watching what he went through for months. He is right. He is 5 lbs and beautiful and I still need a home for him.

| What made her change her mind? Guess it doesn't really matter, just happy he will now have the love and attention he so deserves. Hope you find the perfect match made in heaven!!!
