@redwolf41: don't give your phone number, name, address, email address or anything to anybody. There are too many scammers out there. Also, anybody could have put the collar on him, but an owner should be able to provide proof of ownership such as photos, vet records, statements from groomer, neighbors, etc. who could verify that this is their dog. Thanks for taking care of him in the meantime. BTW on news this morning a gal in Honolulu was reunited with her dog that disappeared 2 months ago. He was stolen, and eventually she was able to "buy" him back for $200. They say this dog-flipping is on the rise everywhere. |

And, mauigirl, good catch on that vague timeline. Shoot, I'd know how many days plus hours it had been since mine had been lost :( Also, this pet flipping bs gives me nightmares sometimes. So crazy how this world can contain (all at once) a homeless man that turns in $40,000 of found money, a community that pays it forward by collecting hundreds of thousands for him, and people who send sporn texts and people who "flip" pets. Crazy beautiful scary world.... |
Wow oh my gosh! I cant keep up with you all! Lol. I would love to give him a trim...whoever had him or maybe someone else did it, did a hack job of a haircut, they used scissors on him and did an awful job! And I have checked that link out about the missing yorkies, none of them really look like him....I do know one thing, he is a dominant male! |
If I found a Yorkie I would not put the breed in a "found" ad that I put in the paper or other areas. I would say "found small dog in such and such area." There are far too many people looking to score a free Yorkie or other small breed dog out there. Making them identify the collar or physical attributes of the dog is a very good idea. Also, someone mentioned not letting them come to your home and that is a good idea also. There are just too many strange people out there to take chances. The owner should have pictures of their pet to show you if they have had the pet for any length of time. A small dog can run a long distance in a short time and get very messed up in the process. This little guy could be some distance from his home by now and could have been on it's own for months. Don't let his condition worry you too much but do take every precaution when finding the real owner. |
Can I asked why you changed your location on your profile? Also, is there a reason that your reading but not answering pm's? You certainly don't have to but I'm just curious. |
Really? Well, If it was any of your business... changed my location on my profile because that's what city I have lived in for the past two years and just realized I hadn't updated it!!OK!! As for answering pms! maybe I don't feel like answering any!! I do have a Life ! |
Good Lord, I see where this thread is going.. OP: You are doing great job in taking care of this little man. Yikes! Never ever give your phone number out.. what on earth!!?? … bad idea. |
I would never give out my personal information to anyone I don't personally know. The main thing that counts is that the little guy is safe and sound and being cared for until owner is found and they would have to provide proof that he is theirs, such as pictures and what kind of collar and name he would respond to.....And I don't judge the owners by his condition completely because I know they can be a hot mess very quickly. That's why I keep a shorter coat on Bandit and Kiva the Diva.. |

Hopefully the owners are out there and looking for him too.. I know you put in some work in trying to find the owners.. |

Obviously you don't want any help and that's fine. I hope that if the owner comes forward you do the right thing. Good Luck! |
Thank You Thank you all for your advice and encouragement....It means a lot to me...Since November 2012, I have been through a lot! Beng pregnant and having to put one of my furbabies out of her misery in December and then had to have c-section to deliver safely and then putting baby up for adoption and also dealing with a 15 yr. old girl!!! I am surprised that I still can deal with things, but my furbabies give me a lot of peace and comfort....so for those who may think I am not doing what I can for this little guy let me say this "Don't judge lest you be judged! As I said before to all that are supportive...Thank you very much, and you are a blessing |
