update Thank you all for the tips and advice, it is very much appreciated....Still have not gotten any replies about ownership. I know they can get messy quickly, my bandit does that's why we keep his hair shorter....whoever did own this little guy didn't take very good care of him, and I say this because his nails were overgrown badly and he was smelly and filthy and just in poor shape, and he is a little skinny and was dehydrated but he is clean smelling now and nails trimmed and next I will see if he will let me trim his hair a little so it all looks better. I went around today and checked with a few places and in a couple of neighborhoods near where he was found but nothing still......I will keep looking until it is evident that he will not be claimed. but for now he is safe and sheltered and fed here and loved on:D |
That is so sweet of you to take such good care of him, and he's lucky you found him. |
Bless you for doing all you have for this little guy. But do keep looking for the owner, you never know what the circumstances were, why he was running the streets and for how long. If his owners are not found, I do hope you keep him and care for him. If nothing else allow a rescue to take over. I'm pretty sure he is going to have a wonderful life either way. |

I am so glad that you took him in and is giving him a home until his family is found. I would just put in the flyer lost yorkie and no picture. I would make the owner supply a picture of the pup. I would not want anyone to claim the pup that wasn't the real owner |

Here's the link to YT library that will help post a pic or any flyer so we can help find his home: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...orkietalk.html OP, please please, put yourself in the other person's shoes. As you can tell from your responses here, a lost yorkie is a very missed part of someone's life. |

There are older people who have little access to computers etc., there are people who don't know the web. OP can you email me a copy of the flier??? |

Furthermore, the OP says the pup is sweet and loving and potty trained etc....sounds ok to me. |

All I know is tha I would be horribly upset if one of my pups were to go missing and someone decided they were fair game to keep because of their appearance when they found them. The only right thing to do is to keep looking for the rightful owner. |
Glad you took this baby in, sounds like he wasn't going to last much longer. Happy to hear he is getting love, shelter and food!! |
Thankfully you took this pup in and are caring for him instead of him being out in the streets scared and hungry. Have you contacted your local humane society, rescue groups or Dog wardens ? That is always the first place that I would check and I assume anyone who has a missing pup would check. Also, if your vets office has a FB account they will post the information there for you to help in your search. Well at least mine does. :) FB is such a world wide venue and can spread fast ! |

Facebook at the vets, humane society etc...this is definitely another great idea I wouldn't have thought of! |
pics of him 2 Attachment(s) Here are a couple of pics of him. I ran out of flyers so I will have to make some new ones. Thanks for all the tips... I will be calling my vet again tomorrow, talked to them on Friday. they did take pics of him there in case anyone was looking for him....He also had a collar on, but I will not show it because I will use it as identifier to right owner, it is not a regular collar, if someone claims to be owner they will have to tell me what type of collar and what color(s).:animal36 also I did check out the pic of the one that was lost that was on fb and looks similar but its face hair was darker |
