Donating YT 4000 Club Member | Scarlett is about 15 pounds. Her best buddy is my 40 pound Brittany. It's not the size but the personality that matters.

YT Addict | My Morkie (yorkie/maltesse) plays well with my dachhsunds, my mom's Yorkie-poo, s**tz-poo and Pointer/Lab cross. All of the dogs are non-dominate personality which helps. It is whether a dog is dominate or submissive that will matter. |

| Our son had a westie but ours didn't like it. Not sure why they just snarled at him every time he came for a visit. He would of loved to play with them they just wanted no part of it. It could of been because he was so much bigger and rougher than ours.

♥Trained by my pups♥ Donating YT 500 Club Member | I have a cairn and two yorkies. They are a lot like a westie. Personality is a lot to do with mixing any dogs

| Yep, more about personality than about size. Blazer is about 7 pounds and Buddy (our GSP) is about 60 pounds. They are best of friends and play all of the time. |

| I've read that cairns and westies are exactly the same, with the exception of their fur coloring. Westies are always white, cairns are never white.

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | Doesn't have much to do with size or breed more so temperament and personality of the dog that is already in your home. For any dog to be able to tolerate the biting and jumping and ankle biting of a young pup take a lot of patience. You will just have to work with them and watch them closely making sure that you don't let them show any aggression or unacceptable behavior toward one another.

| My aunt has had 3 westies. I don't remember the first, but the other 2 are very different and they're mother and daughter. The mother was more outwardly loving, she loved to play with toys and other dogs and was a great mom. She would have gotten along with any dog. She died a few years ago. The daughter was born an old woman and you'd swear she was abused. She's loving in her own way but very reserved, and she doesn't play. Lola's puppy energy annoys her, she can take small bouts of it and then she goes away. She would probably get used to it over time, but she wouldn't be happy about it. Basically I agree with everyone else, they can get along, but it depends on the dogs. |

| Definitely more about personality. Two terriers can sometimes be trouble together, especially of the same sex. Westies are great little dogs; but can be spitfires! I've met a good mix - some that are VERY terrier and can be somewhat mean or dog aggressive/selective, and others that are wonderful. But a Westie and especially a big Yorkie would be a good pair. Jackson seems to like most Westies he meets.
