| Thank you everyone for prayers and well wishes for Maggie Mae! She got discharged earlier and has been resting. She's on a bland diet for a few days. I will make sure her regular vet knows about her reaction so he can give Benadryl prior to her next shot which are in 3 weeks. Her rabies shot can wait for a few weeks after that booster. I just want to say if I didn't have all you and your knowledge, Maggie's outcome could've been different. You all are a true blessing to all of us!!

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | I'm so glad that Maggie Mae is home and doing better. Kudos to you for trusting your instincts and getting her to the vet (both times).

| Fortunately, the OP listened to all the people that responded to her plea for advise on a course of action......what you described as a "knee jerk" reaction, turned out to be anything but. People with experience and a history of owning Yorkies or small breed/toy dogs, are keenly aware of how quickly things can go from what appears to be something trivial, to life threatening, in a matter of hours. It is ALWAYS better to be safe than sorry......I would much rather make a trip to the vet and pay the bill, than sit on something that could end up costing me much more $$$$ trying to get a handle on something that had the chance to "brew" for a couple of days.....or even loosing my pup. I would NEVER be able to rationalize that procrastination away in my own mind...it would torture me forever, knowing that pup had died, and it had no one but me to depend on to make the right call, and I sat on it because I didnt want to open up my purse. I will take "knee jerk" any time. |
