| YT 2000 Club Donating Member | I have deliberately, although my situation is different, encouraged over the years my dog to obey others commands. He is a big dog, and I felt it best that this was done. It has already been usefull a few times. Once when he got out of our backyard, and my next door neighbour saw him happily taking himself off to the park. He obeyed her come command. For me this works, although many others do things differently.

| I wish others the best of luck with my furrbutts. They will only listen to my immediate family- Parents and brother. The yorkies roll their eyes at everyone else. Buddy my golden will sit and give paw but that is it for him!

| I would never dream of disciplining someone else's kids or dogs and I would expect the same.

| Tibbe doesn't usually take commands from others the time or two I've seen it tried but I'd be okay with it within reason to stop him from doing something he shouldn't. Still, I would hate to have to wind up disciplining others for taking it too far.

| YT 2000 Club Member | I don't know if this go under discipline or not.......When I had Tatiana in to my vet the last time, she had to have some medicine right away. One of the "ladies" at the desk decided to give it to her there. I usually don't deal with this one. Tatiana doesn't like medicine. This person was very rough with her and even grabbed her by the neck and yelled for her to stop it! I was so shocked and at a loss for words! Never again will she handle my pups!

| I have grandpuppys, they stay at my house. I have tried to make sure that the training style and commands are the same across the board for the entire family. The only time here that a dog is told to do something by someone else is if the owner is out of the room. My niece's husband trains dogs....big dogs... he has used collars for handles on my dogs, they scream like you are killing them. I told him that it is a necklace and if he isnt dragging his wife across the floor by her jewelry, not to do it to the furbabys. I did take the time to explain that in small dogs you can crush their traecha. That little dogs in many ways are different than big dogs, he actually listened. He is now training a few small dogs, yorkies none the less. He is able to see the little guys in a different lite and is becoming a great trainer. As for strangers,Mina is never far enough away from me for someone else to have a chance to give her commands. Dont think I would care for it much. |

| The more educated I get, concerning dog training, the more it upsets me to have strangers try to "discipline", or "command" my dogs. I feel very disrespected ,when these people inform me how wonderful my fur kids are …then go on to give them commands which my dogs do not understand…nor will they obey… I DO NOT WANT my dogs taking commands from anyone outside of my family….how easy it would be for someone to steal a little Yorkie…if he took commands from anyone. I have friends who have taught their fur babies not to take food from strangers…IMHO, Very smart!!!!!

| When I actually get my Yorkie, my family will prob. try to discipline Teddy (teddybear) I'll go craaaaazy. I mean I understand commands like sssh, but putting her/his nose in poop! Its the same thing as a baby, it takes time. |

| YT 2000 Club Donating Member | That vet tech is not good at all. Big or small, no dog should be treated that way.

| No one disciplines my babies, this is their home, I do try to make sure they keep their manners in check but there are times when they will bark, or jump up, and I stop that. My family and friends know how I feel about my furbabies, just like I would never go into anyones house and do something to their children, I ask the same respect, and if you cant respect my home, then its best not to visit!

| I have never had anyone correct Luma because she is pretty well behaved, but goodness, the dogs at the dog park are just sooo BAD lol. I don't want to be that person who yells at a stranger's dog but many, many times I have had to tell a dog "down" as in get the heck off of me. There is a little swimming pond in the small dog section AMD I come fully prepared to get a little dirty or wet but I've had dogs trample me if I sit on the tree stumps that people sit on, or be all over my legs when I sit on benches. I know dogs will be dogs but in general, most of those dogs are clearly never disciplined and have no.manners. I would be okay if someone told Luma "down" or "no" as long as they did not physically shove or hit her.
