here is a great breeder and he takes his puppies back if anything happens where they cant keep the puppy not a yorkie breeder but a toy poodle breeder and the standard is 5 pounds i believe for a Toy poodle Contact ME my friend bought a puppy from him and hes very reasonable she payed 800 for her teacup

This is not a breeder I would purchase from. He is breeding "designer" pups, he is not breeding for the betterment of the breed. This site has many red flags. You really need to read more on this site to get an understanding of what "we", most of us, not all of us...are referring to.

But this is not a Show breeder that you claim to know that uses the word 'teacup'...no reputable breeder will use that word, YTCA even states that there is no such thing as teacup. FYI, a great breeder will not breed CKC pups, unless it's Canidian Kennel Club.

if you guys really wanna help then there is this pet store in Brooklyn its called teacuppups (google it) ive been there several times and its the worst place there is like 3 puppies sharing a cage and this is a real "greeder" as you guys would call it and they have puppies in the basement of the store... its like hold on a sec let me go get the pup u want for the basement and they sell them for like 2600 if they believe it will be a micro...if you want to help then shut this guy down.

Hobby breeders will hardly EVER spend the money it takes to health-test the male and female they are about to breed to see if they have any brewing health problems or medical conditions or spend years studying genetics so they can have a reasonable expectation that the breeding won't bring out two bad genetic pairs that could create a roach back or subluxating kneecaps, poor shoulder set, undershot jaw, or ultra nervous dogs if both parents are "flighty", etc., in their puppies. They just breed and see what happens. After all, they don't suffer like the puppies do so its no skin of their teeth if the dogs die at age 9 weeks or live bad lives due to inherited problems. And hobby breeders rarely invest in all of the medical supplies and equipment it takes to help a dog in case the dogs delivers in the middle of a blackout, blizzard or some other emergency that might occur making getting to the vet in time impossible. Many others won't even question prospective owners for responsible-ownership qualities and lifestyle. Because they do none of those things, they therefore usually take many, many chances with the well being and lives of the dogs.

I would never infer that all show/breeders are the kind of people you want to buy from. But if you do your homework and find a really experienced and reputable breeder that has an excellent reputation in the show world it is more than worth your time and money to stake that person out and wait for one of their pups.

There are reputable breeders on YT that I'm sure would help people find other reputable breeders in their area. The dog show world, like any other section of this world, has it's problems. There are bad apples where ever you go. But the ones that do it right are out there and when you learn what to look for it isn't hard to know a good one when you meet them.

An experienced, successful breeder of purebred dogs has a wealth of knowledge about the history of the line they are breeding, they understand the complicated genetics of purebred breeding. They do the testing necessary in order to avoid breeding a dog that may have a hidden genetic defect. Even with doing all the safe guards there can be occasional problems with a pup but it is far less likely than if you do the genetic roulette that a "hobby" breeder does.

People are paying thousands of dollars for "teacup" puppies that were bred in a puppy mill or BYB when they could get a quality pup from a real professional breeder for $1200 to $1500. They have a solid health guarantee and a breeder that stands behind the sale.

I agree wholeheartedly. You might as well buy a healthy well bred pup if you're going to pay that much.

WHY use a word that's made up by greedy BYB's & vile Puppy Millers? If anything, we should not be using that word & try to educate those that do...there is no such thing as 'teacup' Yorkies, or Poodles, or Pomeranians...the list goes on & on.
