| I am currently using biogroom shampoo and the NovaPearls conditioner and the Espree Show Style High Sheen spray to comb out the hair. In my experience the shampoo doesn't matter much, it is the conditioner that seems to make the difference. It's the conditioner that is keeping them tangle/matt free in between baths. I was once told by a groomer that you should leave conditioner in for at least 8 minutes for it to properly be absorbed by the skin and coat. I don't know how true this is but in my case I do notice a difference when I give them a quick bath versus letting it sit for awhile. Not one shampoo and conditioner is going to be right for every dog. You just have to try them out and stick with what works for them.

| I decided to try the Pamtene. She is super soft and shiny! So I will see what happens the rest of the week. Time will tell!

I guess there are so many types of grooming products because of all our pup's differences. I have also tried some other things, but keep going back to Minksheen and Pantene. What type of Pantene conditioner did you buy?

| I also use minksheen and pantene, but have added in the espree facial a few months ago.

| Their hair is like ours (it's hair after all not fur) so it stands to reason products work differently on each one as the hair is like ours, different texture and thickness. Laddy does great with the GNC medicated conditioner as with Kyra it makes her greasy.

| Bogie has a cotton coat and Jada is more of a modified coat. I gave up on the long hair two years ago. Bogie could be brushed out three times a day and still have mats. I do keep their legs and head long. I swear I bet I spent over 2,000 in two years trying every product recommended for matting and shine. My mom takes her Biewer Jazz to the groomer at our vets office. Jazz smelled so good after one of her grooms, so I asked mom what Amanda used. Turns out (Jazz mats really bad too) the product helped trememdously with her matting also. It is Top Performance Fresh Pet. Amazon.com: Online Shopping for Electronics, Apparel, Computers, Books, DVDs & more I have been using it for over a year now. Bogie will occasionally get some matting around his arm pits if he wears a t-shirt but that is it. I am only brushing them both about twice a week, other than fixing topknots and faces daily. (note that they only have long hair on legs and head and Bogie has his full tail) I wish I had found this three years ago. I would have a lot more $$ in my pocket

| Gosh Michelle I know what you mean! I used a Pet Silk shampoo with the Pantene conditioner. And it has rained every day since I bathed them. . But Rosie is still silky feeling. Just already starting to get that I have been playing in the rain smell. Lol. So bath day may come early this week. I do have a small bit of mink sheen left. I may try it with the Pantene next bath.

| I use the Yorkie Splash and Shine products on Gracie and am really hooked on the scent plus it keeps her coat nice and silky until her next bath.I always use their spray detangler for daily combing and brushing. Have tried other brands but always go back to the YSS. Our groomer uses WEN on her and she always has an exceptionally smooth coat with lots of shine with that product. I finally decided to order some WEN in the Gardenia scent and give it a try. Can't wait to see how it goes. I would love to be able to just wash her and not have to also use a conditioning rinse. |
