| I've heard they are mimicking what they saw their mommie do while still with her when they carry poop to you. (goes for eating it too in some instances)

| Ah, poor Mommy Alisha. I know you work and have been sick and this is a ucky thing to deal with. It is ok to show your discuss at the poop carrying. I give the cue word 'LEAVE IT !' I make gaging sounds and pick it up and go straight to the toilet with it saying Nasty, Nasty. I do the same thing on walks cue Leave It and Nasty, Nasty. Yorkies read human facial expressions so well, they know the difference between anger and this is a bad thing, expression. The 'this is a bad thing' expression means no reward for doing this poop carrying thing at all. I carry the offender into the bathroom with me and the poop. I flush the poop then sit the offender on the counter and use a wet wipe to wash their face and mouth. then I put them down and ignore them for awhile. Often the offender will slink off head down and hide for a few minuets. They are not afraid of Mommy just confused. After a time or two they know poop carrying means no reward at all. Usually they stop doing it. Right now poop carrying does have a reward a chasing game and excitement. Be consistent. Do try to pick up poop ASAP. Many, many dogs like to roll in smelly things, dead things, smashed bugs, animal poop, and pee. Why ? There are a lot of theories, which still don't answer the question of how do I get them to stop ? ! I use the cue Nasty, Nasty when caught in the act. And/or you can squirt them with a blast of water. Many pups out grow laying on and rubbing/ rolling on their pee-pad. I did have on stubborn foster boy had to potty train him to go outside only. I had to block his access to the pee-pads. Hope this will give you some ideas. Hugs

| Oh you poor thing! I went through this with Molli and feel your pain. The above advise is good- I taught "leave it" but still, 1 year later I have to constantly watch her or she will eat it or play with it. I found putting the potty pad in the family room helped- that way I can watch her and clean it right way- not the nicest looking thing to have in your living room but what can you do? Good luck!

| Lord have mercy on you, Stella and especially Guinness. I've read other threads about the babies snuggling up with poo in their beds. Hideous! But, that Stella has taken the prize! Spitting poo on her brother! Is somebody kidding me? That Stella is my girl. Who would even think of that? She's a natural little Dennis the Menace. I've already said a prayer for you, Stella and Guinness. I'm believing that the advice given will help. But, before you try it, I'm begging you to get that camera, phone or whatever you use to take videos, and place it right next to that potty pad. You just can't leave us hanging like this! I guarantee you that video will go viral and you'll be famous by sundown. The Dog Whisperer will get ahold of that little Stella and she'll be whipped in shape in no time.

| Oh yea we have been trying to get it on video but half the time we have no idea where her hiding spots are located to be on alert. I started trying the nasty and yucky last night and we have been trying to potty train outside BUT she will NOT poo outside.. Little brat!!

She stopped when we got Bella (Bella runs FROM her poo) but yesterday morning the hubs was later leaving for work and he witnessed the entire thing ... flying POO! He said, "Kathy, Eva's tossing t*&ds to Bella!" If I tell her "NO! Eva" ... it gets even uglier, she chomps down and holds on like it was a toy. Bleck! I just purchased breath spray and toothpaste, that's all I know to do other than beat her to it, and hope she grows out it!!! Oh, and she has done this since I got her at 9 weeks old.

| OMG this thread has me literally LOLing! I don't mean to be disrespectful Alisha, but I can just picture little Stella slinging s*&# at Guinness and you have to admit, that is a pretty funny thing. Okay, all jokes aside, you are not alone in your poop hoarding little lady. And I am so glad to see that I am not alone with Izzy's bad habits. She doesn't hoard it or sling it, but she will eat it - and it is usually Jack's or the kitties. We have caught her a few times trying to get hers, but like someone mentioned, we keep her pee pads in the living room (where we spend 90% of our time) and pick it up immediately. We bought a baby gate to keep her away from the one litter box and fortunately she has not ventured down the basement steps to find the other litter boxes. She is afraid of the steps, thankfully! The one problem besides poopy breath I have with her, is when she is able to eat a good portion of Jack's or the kitties, she ends up with the worst smelling diarrhea and then it gets all over her backside... ugh! And I have no idea what to tell you about her rubbing her face in her own pee. I think she is trying to cover her fufu smell (i.e. good shampoo/conditioner smells) with something more natural and maybe it has something to do with trying to be dominant. I am not sure about that. Maybe ask your vet about that one.

Another thing to try to correct this situation would be to grab a small toy and redirect her interest to it by tossing it in the air, as she is doing with her poo, lots of praise when she shows interest in the toy. Thinking too (probably too much, lol) she may be mimicking YOU, if she sees you cleaning up after her. I'd throw a ball or toy to get her going away from the pad so she doesn't witness you picking up any poo.

| I was thinking about that comparison too. You don't want to get her thinking pooping is bad, actually she gets praise for making it in the right place. So using terms like, 'Ewwwww! Yucky! Stinky!' as oppossed to telling her she's being 'bad' will make a difference, and holding her at arm's length on the way to the bathroom to clean her up (No kissies for you for a while! You is stinnnnky!) and putting her on the floor and ignoring her for a bit should be enough for her to 'get' the difference. Making 'Eeeeew!' faces should help too, as opposed to a 'stern' face used in corrections.

| I think this is really funny. These guys and gals are something aren't they? I am sorry I have no advice to help. I am curious about the solutions people come up with.
