| ![]() Boy, talking about mixing the giant with the dwarf. Sure makes one a nervous mother, huh? I myself have a Yorkie and an Australian Shepherd (which sheds like freakin crazy....so definitely not an option for you) and they play great together. I don't leave them alone though. The Yorkie is so persistent in his playing that you never know when the Aussie will get his fill. I was going to give my vote for the Boxer. I left a store yesterday and there was one sitting in the front seat of a car and he looked so handsome. Such a loveable face. If I wouldn't have already got the Aussie then I would have gotten a Boxer. The funny thing is that I read this post yesterday and just never got a chance to post a reply. I came home yesterday and lo and behold to my belief there was a Boxer who wandered up to our house. No tags, no collar, nothing!!!!! I'm not really sure where he lives either. I once took home a dog that looked similar but I think it was a different sex. That lady was not friendly at all. First said it wasn't her dog, never seen it before, then said it belonged to the lady behind her and then that lady was her sister-in-law. So I don't know quite what to do yet. He is friendly but scared me to death because he looked at my Yorkie and I panicked. So I can understand your fear.

| ![]() My parents had a boxer before I was born and when I was a baby that they adored. But the boxer was so protective they had to get rid of her. She slept under my crib and when I cried she wouldn't let them near me. That's the only thing I know about boxes except that they're beautiful. But a boxer that would protect a Yorkie outside would sure be nice. |

| ![]() I have a Bichon. They should weigh 12-16 pounds, but mine is larger (everything I own gets BIG)!!! Anyway, they are absolutely wonderful with other dogs and with cats (and people) also. This is a breed that is especially know for getting along well with other pets. My Bichon is 21 pounds - and he and my new little 5 pound Yorkie play constantly. They have become wonderful friends in a very short period of time. The Yorkie plays very rough and the Bichon plays just as hard, but is very gentle. He is constantly placing his paws on the puppy and head butts him a lot. Never growls, bites, or even uses his teeth to play. Right now, he is putting up with a lot of abuse from the puppy (who is constantly hanging on to his ears) and doesn't do a thing about it. The puppy also eats all the food and the Bichon just stands and watches him do it. Bichons - are a wonderful breed for people who are allergic to dogs. ..supposed to be the best... They do not shed and have no dander. I have had my Bichon for four years and have never found one white hair in my house. Good luck! Carol Jean |

Penny (my boxer) is soooooo good to my little ones. I think it helps that we bred her once and she was such a good mother. A few months after we bred Penny we got Tink and then a year later we got Chloe so she immediately took to mothering them and loving on them. As of right now she doesnt act possesive of the little dogs at all, she just watched over them, plays gently with them and she protects them when they are in the backyard which makes me feel really good. Penny is truly a wonderful dog, I just wish she didnt shed so much. Its amazing how loyal boxers are. Its kinda cute that your parents boxer was so protective of you when you were a baby( I can definetly see where that would be a problem for them, but still its cute) ![]()
