| ![]() I have always had males neutered for a couple of reasons. One is for the dog's sake. A male dog can smell a female in heat from miles away. If he is not to be used for breeding why put him through the constant frustration? Also many males feel the need to mark their territory when they are not neutered. While this is a mild annoyance to us the dog is doing it because of the fact that he is feeling territorial. Some dogs are better about it than others but as I said before: why put the dog through it if he is not going to be used for breeding? I just think it is good to let the hormonal thing go by the way and let the guy live a carefree life. |

Zachary's Mom Donating Member | ![]() All my dogs have been spayed/neutered and have had no problems. The main reason I have had the boys neutered at 6 mths is because of marking. I have enough to deal with my kids w/o having stinky walls and furniture! I may have waited A BIT longer if not for that. Let us know what you decide. Louise |

| ![]() I think you made the right decision. My neighbor has unneutered cats she doesnt neuter although spays her females because males cant get pregnant. Her house smells rank from the spraying and I dont like my daughtert to go over there to play with her granddaughter because her coat will come back smelling of cat spray. Everyone has said something to them about it and they just wont get those cats neutered. We even have a low cost clinic here that will do it for $35 that she took her females to so money isnt the problem either

| ![]() Please!!!! They are when it comes to marking and that was my point sorry you didnt get it. Both male cats and male dogs have a tendency towards marking when unneutered
