| Welcome to YorkieTalk - hopefully others will give you more ideas about dealing with the breeder. |

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | Yes, I agree. But two months is a long time. She should already have them. Not sure what the hold up would be. I would also try to communicate thru email so that you have a paper trail. That may help you move things along and get the papers sooner.

| I'm sorry your breeder is not cooperating. Did you sign a contract? Welcome to Yorkie Talk.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Lots of people don't care if they get papers if they aren't planning to breed or show, I'm glad that you are insisting on papers. She sold you a dog that was supposedly AKC eligible, and that's what you should get. Insisting on papers helps keeps breeders honest and makes it harder for them to cheat.

| And be sure to mention you will be contacting AKC if you dont receive your papers within that time frame. Who is the breeder? Did you sign a contract? Did the breeder show you a copy of the litter registration papers when you bought your puppy to prove to you she did indeed have your babys papers! |

| Yeah right!!! as an ex-breeder I had people tell me that they had bought a yorkie that was suppose to be registered yet 2 years later they have yet to recieve the papers. If you didn't see the papers when you bought your yorkie your breeder probaly didn't have papers in the first place. I wish you the best of luck in getting your AKC paper work, you may have to go to small claims court to get some of your $ back I wish you all the best |

| I'm not a breeder but I don't understand why she didn't give you the AKC papers you have to mail in when you purchased her. I believe there is an area on the paper work that the breeder darkens in and states limited registration. Doesn't limited registration mean you have to have the puppy fixed but still able to participate in AKC obedience shows just not breed classes. I thought if you didn't get the paper work with the puppy at time of purchase then the puppy would still belong to the breeder. Last edited by JANICE C; 02-26-2013 at 10:44 AM. |

| If the breeder doesnt give you the papers I would take her to small claims court and get some of your purchase price back. You have done everything you were supposed to do.

| If you don't have everything in writing, then it's all just your word, which wouldn't hold up in a court of law. I'm sorry you are going thru this but it doesn't sound like that breeder was legit! Maybe a reminder to her that you are on a dog board (not telling her which one) that has thousands of viewers from all over the world, and you will put her name out for the world to see. Good luck to you.

I never received a dog registration application from my breeder. How can I get an application for my dog? Answer: Buyers should not accept a promise that this identification or the registration application will be sent later. It is the buyer’s responsibility to obtain complete identification of the dog as described below. If sufficient information to identify the dog within AKC records is not forthcoming, the buyer should seriously consider not purchasing the dog. Last edited by JANICE C; 02-26-2013 at 02:53 PM. | |
