| Dog attacking other male dog Leo has started to attack our 11yr old JRT. It happens out of nowhere. Both are fixed. Before it was the JRT attacking Leo but that was mostly my grandmas fault. Just today, when my JRT came in from outside, Leo full on attacked him. He grabs the JRT by the neck and wrestles him. Today it got so bad that they ended up locked at the lips and we couldn't get them to let go of each other. I don't know why Leo has started doing this. The JRT can just be standing there and bam Leo's attacking him. What do I do?!?!

| They are Terriers and males, although neutered can be trying to be top dog. Most of the time it's a fight for attention. I keep my males separated so that we avoid fights. I know it's not ideal, but that's what I do. 2 females will fight at times too. Gotta Love 'em! |

It seems that Leo is now growing into maturity. How old is he? You said the JRT used to attack him, maybe Leo just got fed up with it and is now sticking up for himself. Jackson and my dads female JRT mix have to be watched. Lily was a b*tch one too many times to Jackson and one day he just lashed out, we had to separate them. But now he can be just as bad with starting things. I can always tell when something will escalate - Lily gives a look, and Jackson doesn't like the way she looked at him, and I will distract with something else. For the most part, it's not a problem, but I've learned to just keep an extra eye. No bones or things of high value near each other.
