I'm so sorry.

If you think it was someone visiting the neighborhood, I would make some flyers and knock on every door in the neighborhood and leave a flyer. One of them might have a "friend" that was visiting that "mysteriously" just got a new Yorkie and might know something. Say she is spayed so that whoever got her will not think of her as a money maker. Offer a reward, no questions asked.

don't under estimate your neighbors new or not most people would have a heart if someone's pet was stolen. I would visit all of them tell them the time this happened and ask if anyone was leaving their house around the same time, tell them you are afraid that someone may have mistook your pup for being loose and was trying to get them safe (lay that part on thick so you are not seen as accusing their friend) Call the TV and radio stations. I have seen many stories here on the Detroit news channels when something like this happens. The best thing you can do now is to make a LOT of noise and make it quick. You should also try to get a few days off to take care of this. Get anyone you can to help you with this. You could get help from anyone, just give them photos and the story. Write it all down so it is ready to give to anyone that says they can help. Even people that don't live near you can help, since they can make phone calls and send emails just as easily as someone living in your town. I pray for your sweet baby's return

I am so sorry..........this happens every day, and people are getting more and more brazen....someone grabbed a YT members pup while she was holdidng the baby, with her leash/halter attached! They actually struggled and the member was going to "fight to the death" to hold onto her little dog....thankfully, the uproar was witnessed by people standing around and she didnt loose her baby! Hopefully, you will get your baby back.......did you say she was chipped?

I do think making noise through media channels is one of your best bets, not long ago there was a gal on here that had her dog go missing from her home and she was pretty sure it was taken. She acted very fast and got the media on her side and a lot of publicity was generated. Eventually the dog was found tied up out side their home when they were out looking for it. She felt the heat was so hot from all the publicity that the people with the dog just gave up and returned it. I feel strongly that happened as well since there was no note or anything. I know if I had found that dog I would have waited to make sure nothing else went wrong and I would have wanted to tell the owner where I found it etc. I tell you this so you will not give up hope but more importantly that you understand how getting your story out to the media could be the difference between getting your dog back or not

does anyone remember that thread where the dog was returned and left tied up. Not the one where the Disney people found the dog. Perhaps that person would have some good advice for the OP.

I can not do this because I am leaving in a day and .5 for a week vacation, but if any of you have some time to help with an email campaign perhaps that could help the OP. I know sometimes it is hard to focus with emotions running on overdrive.

I was about to say contact the local news and see if they could do like a community type special but now you have me scared.... Define tied up outside???
I know here somebody's Yorkie was stolen so they had it posted on Craigslist with reward and watched Craigslist well they ended up getting a reply from a lady that was about to buy a puppy and it was theirs so she had the real owners and cops go with her when she was going to purchase it and they got their puppy back.

yes the dog that had gone missing was returned and left tied up. the owners were out looking for the yorkie and when they came home found him tied up in their front area. I kinda of remember it was a condo complex but not sure and it may have been FL, I felt that the people that returned it either took the dog or someone returned it on behalf of the person that took it. Let's face it, if you find a dog that you know the owners are going crazy trying to find wouldn't you stick around or leave a note so they could contact you, not tie it up and split. Lot's of thoughts on what really happened, but I bet the person that took the dog in that case just did not feel comfortable keeping it since it had gotten so much press, or someone they knew might have put pressure on them to return it. That's why media attention in this case is key. the police are not going to set up a dog hunt to find it, so you have to do it yourself. In this case the dog was stolen so contacting vets and shellters will probably be a waste of time, since the person taking the dog will probably lay low for a while and not have the dog out in public much.
The person taking the dog is bound to have friends, relatives, neighbors and so forth so if there is a lot of press about it then perhaps a person close to the thief could make them do the right thing

I am so sorry this is terrible and I could not imagine. I will keep you and your poor baby in my prayers. Most people steal yorkies to sell them so check craigslist and all the classified lists in your area and around you area. I would go ahead and ask the neighbors if you think it was someone visiting them. I hope she gets back to you.

I am so sorry how horrible. It actually made my stomach sick to think how brazen and cruel people are to steal your baby right in front of you. Between malicious people and malicious dogs I worry every time I am outside. I swivel around looking for predators skin and fur. I pray you get your baby back.

Found the thread.*Please Help!! Missing Yorkie!!
OP was barbielb (I don't know how to show a link)

She was vacationing in fla and dog was returned several days later and tied to a golf cart in front of condo.

This idea of someone taking a dog from inside a fence in someones yard distresses me terribly. I don't understand how people think they can get away with something like this. I pray this pup is found soon. My heart is heavy with the thought....
