Cotton Coated Yorkshire terrier?

I would describe Tucker as a cotton coat. His hair is super fluffy and it tangles easily. He looks like he never really lost his puppy coat. I love it! He is five in this picture. My others are too big to upload. I will try to post again later

My little nut has a super soft coat and I believe that is why it is considered cotton like. She however is not dark at all. Just the opposite. She has a very light platinum blonde head and underneath, gold face and legs with a light silver blue saddle. Her coat tangles very easily and is a lot of work, but well worth it ~ she feels like "Egyptian cotton"!

The darkness usually is on the saddle. They're more black than the steel blue. Kaji's a little blondie too! Except for the sideburns and ears that refuse to shed the puppy darkness, even all these years later.

I still don't now what kind of coat he has..
When I brush him, his hair becomes soft and long but after a couple of minutes it curls back..

In the first and the second pic you can see his curly hair, in the third you can see his hair right after I brush him..

Scooter also has the soft coat. I'm always apologizing to his groomer for all the snarls in his coat. I brush him daily but it doesn't make any difference and his coat just knots right up. His groomer is so very nice about it and says not to worry it's just the way cotton coats are. He's Mr. Wiggle Butt when he gets groomed and cut but he always comes out just beautifully

I posted a pic of max a while ago... Here's an update... He's as scruffy as ever... Lol. I think the suggestions that he will turn out cotton coated are right!

Basically, I studied pictures of puppies from reputable breeders, and I studied pictures of puppies from.. well.. less than reputable breeders, lol. Aside from half the puppies from the latter looking like they were mixed seven ways from Sunday, their pups always were more fluffy and more dull looking than the puppies of the former. The exception usually being when the pet bred puppies were AKC registered, though some of them were cotton coats too.
Without exception, show breeders had puppies that looked like they had greasy fur, especially on their face, above their eyes.

I don't have great pictures to illustrate, but below are Pixie and Sabre at about the same age.

Sabre looks identical to my yorkie Bentley!!! I hope he has silky hair just because its easier to manage than the cotton coats but both are beautiful!! I have noticed that most reputable prefer silky coats but I have hear that they get the lighter silver colors from cotton type coats.
