Bengi is lost! - careless hotel housekeeper caused it!!! need your HELP!

Yes. I don't think it is common, but it can happen. You should have your vet scan it at your pups regular vet visit to make sure it is good to go.

They do scan but it could fail afterward - should Tibbe get lost and his chip fail after his last vet visit, I'm going to prepare a little album of his many looks - short, medium, long hair, description of identifying marks, body parts, things he loves, is scared of, things like that. Close up pix from the top of his head, muzzle, profile of head, profile of head and body - that sort of thing. His tail set is rather high so a close-up of just that. What happened to Bengi has started us all thinking about a lot of things.

Yes in this case, it is hindsight.....but I am pleading with everyone else out there, that have pets that for whatever reason, they have NOT microchipped, PLEASE DO SO NOW!! It is one of the best things to do for your pet.
I got Max done with his first puppy shots and Mickey when neutered.
Do all shelters have chip "readers"? Not sure how microchipping works.

Hey guys, I read all your posts and I know you feel like I should still go and stuff; and I would if I felt that's Bengi. We've been looking at the lasts pictures of him on my phone and his haircut also tells me that's not him. You guys were comparing this yorkie to a picture of Bengi that was taken a few month back, and his hair there was longer in the face and ears. Bengi's ears at the time he got lost were trimmed. That and the black in the nose that you can all see; he didn't have that.
This weekend is too complicated for us to go over there with all these signs showing it's not him. My toddler just got a terrible cold last night to make things worse and she's running a fever.
I'm going to pray tonite and ask God specifically that if by any chance that's Bengi, He will make me uneasy about it and also put things in order for us to take the trip, which is almost 3 hours. All of this is really hard for us; so please don't judge us, we are doing what we can. Thank you for being here for us in this difficult time.

This dog's ears do look pretty grown out and even as fast as Tibbe's hair grows on his ears, I don't think they could sprout that much hair in, what, 2 weeks? Hope your little toddler will get better quickly - a sick child is so unhappy and uncomfortable until they are totally well. And if that temp goes up, it is downright scary.

He has a vestigial dew claw on his right foreleg and he won't wag his tail hardly at all unless his prey drive is engaged. He doesn't wag his tail when greeting, he just dances around, barks, chortles and tries to kiss kiss kiss - but no blur of a tail as many small dogs do. Things like that ready to go in the album should help. Also, am going to photo his tummy close up. He's got 3 or 4 moles in certain spots.

I really do not think any of us judge you or your family, you know your fur child better than we do and I am sure if you had ANY clue doubt thought or idea that it was indeed Bengi you would be there in an heartbeat!! Everybody here just wants it to be Bengi so bad where he will be back home with his family for the holidays that we all are just not willing to give up hope, so just know that in those moments you have those doubts and are ready to give up you will still have an army standing behind you hoping, praying, searching and fighting to find your baby and get him back where he belongs!!!

Oh ho!!! Kind of says all people need to know about this hotel, doesn't it? They might handle something icky if pressed but if you have real troubles THEY created for yu, you get corporate cookie-cutter responses and little more that really fixes what they did to ruin your life.
