| Welcome to YT! I don't think that is big for a Yorkie. You will learn a lot here Georgie doesn't go outside unsupervised.

| I would like to suggest you get two books on Yorkies....these are very informative and will give you tons of information that you really need to know! "Yorkies For Dummies" is the first one I recommend for all my new owners....."Yorkshire Terriers: A Smart Owners Guide" is the second book. These are excellent resource books and you really need them in your libraby! Congratulations on your new baby. She is a little girl and actually is on the small side. Dont let her go ANYPLACE unattended or unsupervised...predators and people with take your baby and it only takes less than the blink of an eye! Dont let her jump off furniture...she is small and is susceptable to very seariou injury, even death, if she falls from a couch or chair....if she falls from the couch and lands on her head, it will more than likely kill her, so this is important. Yorkies do not realize how small and fragile they are...they know no fear and will take on any other dog, regardless of size....alot of Yorkies meet their demise this way. They will fly out of your arms with no hesitation, they will jump froma cabinet....always have a good grip in your baby....again, bad news if she falls and hits the floor. Read up on vaccination protocols. Read your books for the direction you want to go with what you should feed your baby...also there are alot of common plants all around us that are toxic to dogs....you need to learn what they are and see if you have any within reach that could make your baby deathly ill or even kill her. |

| Welcome to yorkietalk! The standard for yorkies is not to exceed 7 pounds although many of us here have bigger ones. Mine is 16 pounds. I think that all dogs should get some time outside whether its just for a walk or running around a fenced in area but I think with the smaller ones is very important not to leave them alone outside.

| She is 10 months on the 27th. I have only let her outside for short periods but never alone or let her get far we have plenty of places for her to get lost or a snack as we live in the country. How do I upload pics? |

| If she is 10 months and 3.5 pounds she is definitely not too large. The breed standards calls for 4-7 pounds although yorkies in history were much larger. That's why we have our sweet little teapots today. My Khloe 10.5 months old and she is 5.7 pounds. I can scoop her up in my arms like nothing. My co-worker's daughter's yorkie is over 10 pounds and 8 years old. She is a cutie as well and her mama still scoops her up too. Actually my bichon Kirby is 14.5 pounds and I can still scoop her up but just with a little more effort. Congratulations on your new baby. I suggest consistent and schedule potty training. I would invest in a wire crate. |

| She has a crate which she stays in while we work and I'm working the potty training inside on pads before we really push outside
