If she is 10 months and 3.5 pounds she is definitely not too large. The breed standards calls for 4-7 pounds although yorkies in history were much larger. That's why we have our sweet little teapots today. My Khloe 10.5 months old and she is 5.7 pounds. I can scoop her up in my arms like nothing. My co-worker's daughter's yorkie is over 10 pounds and 8 years old. She is a cutie as well and her mama still scoops her up too. Actually my bichon Kirby is 14.5 pounds and I can still scoop her up but just with a little more effort. Congratulations on your new baby. I suggest consistent and schedule potty training. I would invest in a wire crate.
