Welcome to yorkietalk! The standard for yorkies is not to exceed 7 pounds although many of us here have bigger ones. Mine is 16 pounds. I think that all dogs should get some time outside whether its just for a walk or running around a fenced in area but I think with the smaller ones is very important not to leave them alone outside.
