| I think your vet just hasnt seen dogs that small but yorkies can be tiny. My Jewels was 12 oz at 8 weeks and she had no teeth. I brought chachi home at 6 weeks and he had no teeth

| I'm thinking he's 12 weeks... You would have known if you came home with a 4 week old yorkie.

| I agree with the other posters that your vet may be wrong on your yorkie's age, given that your vet does not specialize in small dogs, and your yorkie is an extra small one. Small dogs age slower AND it's individual. My Tatiana is small. She's about 3 lbs, and five years old. But truthfully, she seems about half her age. Oftentimes, the vet techs do a double-take when they know her physical age. However, it was documented that the vet saw her last year, and the year before, as an adult dog, so they know she's older than two years old. Last edited by MidnightUnicorn; 09-28-2012 at 10:13 AM. | You have all made me feel better and stop self doubt. While as stated these are my first Yorkies...I have been around 1001 Boxer pups and I do know what they look like as very young ones. I did not doubt her age, did not feel the breeder was lying...until my Vet. I then had some Vet doubts...and you have put them to rest. While I love my Vet, she has been with me for 10 years.....I may have to see if I can find another one (we live in a small hick town) that may know a little bit more on these small breeds! |

| I posted on your welcome thread as well, but I wanted to post here too. We had a Boxer for 13 years (our sweet Coco). I was much more familiar with Boxers when we got Georgie. I definitely agree with everyone else she is older than 4 weeks and omgosh she is a dollbaby! I wish you many years of joy and love with your Yorkies and Boxers. They are my favorite breeds and both amazing! I wanted to add that I have a different Vet for Georgie and Coco. I feel like each of them has their speciality and I want to make sure I have a Vet that is educated with the smaller breeds. Georgie tips the scales at 4lbs and is 7. Our Boxer was 75lbs.

| Yep. I agree she looks about 12 weeks. Both are cuties. I smoothe Maxximus's facial hair a lot because it was getting in his eyes but not lately. It lays down as it grows longer. My Choppa used to rub his face like a baby with both paws as his was growing out.
