I agree with the other posters that your vet may be wrong on your yorkie's age, given that your vet does not specialize in small dogs, and your yorkie is an extra small one. Small dogs age slower AND it's individual.
My Tatiana is small. She's about 3 lbs, and five years old. But truthfully, she seems about half her age. Oftentimes, the vet techs do a double-take when they know her physical age. However, it was documented that the vet saw her last year, and the year before, as an adult dog, so they know she's older than two years old.
