| Vacation without my furbaby Ok...I'm freaking a little. I'm leaving Copper with a neighbor for a week starting Saturday morning. No one takes care of your "baby" like you do. I'm worried, although I trust this person, and sad. I will probably cry when I walk away. Am I too weird? The best part of my vacation week will be picking him up the following Saturday. I guess I'm nuts, but leaving him makes my imagination go crazy with things that could happen while he is out of my care.

| I know how you feel, I trust my family more than anyone but I would freak out if I had to leave Joel with them, lol. But they wouldn't do the little stuff like washing his face and stuff like that. It should be fine if you trust this person, just leave them a long list of how to care for your baby, hehe |

| I wish I lived closer to some of you. I would feel a lot more confident leaving my baby with one of you guys than with family. LOL I know you all would know exactly how to tend and treat my baby.

| It's funny, when we were getting our roof fixed, we wern't sure if we could get a hotel that took dogs and my sister said one of our close friends could take Joel for a while and I said I'd leave him with someone on YT before them, lol, and she said "you would leave him with a stranger?" she obviously doesn't get that "yorkie instinct" that we all with yorkies have, lol |

| I know how you feel. I HATE leaving him... and I know he's always in good hands (thank goodness for my dad) but it still doesn't help.

| Awwww, you are not weird, you're a Yorkie Momma I haven't had a vacation in years because I won't leave my girls. If they can't go, I don't go. We did do one overnight trip, we left around noon and were home by 5 pm the next day They were here with my daughter and one of her friends (they are 16). Even then, hubby couldn't convince me to stay another night I definitely would trust a YT"er before anyone else, though

| I know just how you feel. I get upset when I have to leave my dogs at the groomers or vet. I always wonder if they feel they will never see us again. |

| Try not to let your baby see you get upset or he will get upset too. Also I would make sure if you neighbor doesn't have dogs that her house and fence is puppy proof and you may want to leave something with him that smells like you. You may also want to leave a list of things that are toxic. I left mine once for a week a few years ago and worried about her the whole time so I could never leave her again. Plus she does not eat if I'm not around and that can be a problem with some of her issues.

| Hi, Thanks for your replies! I found myself wanting to click "like" on all of them. I'm thankful for YorkieTalk, it gives you a chance to express your love for a dog or dogs without feeling like an over obsessive dog owner. Non dog people just don't get this. I wish many of you who responded lived near me...I would trade babysitting with many of you who understand. Thanks for listening!

| I was going to have to leave Bowser for a MONTH. Then plans changed and I am able to take him with me thank God. I can't imagine leaving him for a month. Bowser is my only friend here (I don't speak the language). Wednesday he was at the vet all day and I felt really lonely. I have no doubt if I ever have to leave him for more than a day I will cry. |

| It is really hard leaving them... I'm on vacation right now (and will be for 10 days) visiting family in Colorado. I had asked if it was okay if I brought the dogs (both my aunt and uncle are not dog people), and they said yes. If they had said no, I would not be here... That's how hard it is for me to leave them.

| We're trying to go away for a weekend, and scheduling Chuck's sitter is the hardest part! I insist that Charlie stays at home when we are away, and the sitter stays here too. Afterall, if i trust her with Charlie I surely trust her in my house. Then he's a little more comfortable, the furniture and yard smell just right for him, and it's already puppy proof. Of course, we still leave a detailed list, vet contacts and a credit card for an emergency.

| I know how you feel as we went away for an out of state wedding last month. I was a wreck until I got back, even though they were with another Yorkie Mommy. I was glad we both had iPhones and she would send me pictures & videos. We are just pathetic!!

| I leave my Tuffey with the animal hospital (our vet too) in case anything goes wrong. I know they will keep him penned up and there is no chance of him getting away. The staff loves him. He likes the "spa" cause he get lots of attention. I also use that time to get his teeth cleaned twice a year. I feel better knowing the doc is right there. I call and check on him while we are gone. It's still hard to leave him and sometime we get ourselves so worked up when I know he is being taken care of. Sigh
