| ![]() I understand. Please PM me IF you want to talk. I lost my darling boy Border Collie for a similar problem this Feb. It was not anyone's fault, my vet came home from an hour away ASAP on a Sunday. We then took him to THE BEST place in the area, an hour and a half away. We dropped over 5K trying to save him. I waited seven years for him. He was bred by my dear friend. We paid to bring him over from Denmark (almost 2K) He was the PERFECT dog for me. I had Angel too then but she was a toy and he was my friend. HE MADE ME FEEL SAFE. He was the child of my heart. When I lost him I went in to a deep deep depression. Not able to get out of bed depression. When I realized I was missing days it scared me to death. Just try to go one minute at a time, one hour at a time, one day at a time. Find small tasks to start and complete. I can do this one thing. IF YOU NEED TO GO SEE SOMEONE. Again, I am always willing to talk.

| ![]() I am so very sorry for your heartbreaking loss. I went through a similar situation with my baby Starr. She was almost three years old, and 5 pounds of pure love. She got sick in the same way your Ace did, and it took 5 days of running her to the vet every day before they finally figured out that she had an obstruction. It was a bunch of wood mixed with hair (she'd chewed up a colored pencil that I later found under our bed ![]() ![]() ![]() I wanted to go after the vet that did the surgery as well, but was too heartbroken at the time to do anything. A few months later, I found out that they went out of business. There are no more understanding folks in the world than right here at YT. A lot of us have lost a little one unexpectedly and know how you're feeling. It's horrible, and my husband and I literally just laid in our bed that night and bawled like little babies, not sleeping at all. The very next day, my hubby was on a mission to find another Yorkie baby to love, while I hated the idea. I was never going to have another dog, ever, my heart was raw. He had me looking for breeders online and that's when I stumbled upon YT and the wonderful people here ![]() I hope that you are able to find some peace in time. You did everything you possibly could do for your baby. You trusted in your vet, as did I, after all they are supposed to be the professionals, right!? It took a long time (this was almost 6 years ago now) but we can now talk about Starr and laugh and smile at her memories. She taught us what real love is! My heart goes out to you.

| ![]() I'm so sorry about Ace. I know how you feel. I had a similar problem not with my dog but with my cat. She wasn't eating at all only drinking and she was hiding from us which cats generally do when they're sick. We took her to the vet near my home and this jerk and believe me he's a real jerk said she had a uti and he gave her an antibiotic. That night she got worse so we took her to the vet we used to use before we moved and she said that Punky had so much gases in her she couldn't even read the xrays and ultrasound. Well we found out she ate a pointsetta plant and if we hadn't caught it in time we would have lost her. She was in the hospital for a week. Long story short we started going back to our former vet. It's a distance away but worth the trip. |

| ![]() [QUOTE=BiewerYorkie;3981963]I am so very sorry for your loss. Have you talked to the first vet? I think I would have to. I know your heart is breaking and you have my thoughts and prayers. Louise I already called last week and spoke to the receptionist, and made a compliant on the vet. I left my name and number but they did not call back, but sent us a card with their "condolences." My husband is going to call on Monday again. The whole situation is so draining, but I want the vet to admit they should not have kept him overnight for a stomach virus, when an xray showed an obstruction and he needed surgery ASAP! |

| ![]() Words cannot make you feel better but I know a little of how you feel. Our Bella got suddenly sick last week and we were very worried. She seems to be getting back to normal but I can't imagine being without her. You have my heartfelt sympathy.

| ![]() It is a terribly tragic loss. I can understand your anger. These tiny dogs do need special consideration when even the slightest abnormality takes place. They do not have the ability to pass things that a larger dog would and they cannot compensate as well. It is a horribly painful experience to lose someone that you love in such a manner. I pray you would some how be able to let your baby rest in peace. |
