| ![]() Hello everyone..Im not sure this is common...Ive had bruno now for a month.. he is 15 weeks. Since ive had him i have trained him to go on potty pads.. my concern is that will he ever potty outside?? I will take him out when i know for sure he has to go like first thing in the am and I can spend up to a 1 and a half and he will not go!! Ive taken potty pads outside...I always say "Go Potty" and he just looks at me...I feel like he has a phobia or something that he will not eliminate outside..the minute he goes inside he will run to his potty pads and go.. Its become a challenge in my household and has caused many arguments because everybody says "that once he goes inside , he will always go inside.".. did i train him wrong?..will he ever get over this??? id like him to be able to do both...any advice? |

| ![]() Atticus has never used the bathroom outside either. We will walk him and he won't go. We have tried everything from putting puppy pads outside to getting the spray that is supposed to make them go. All to no success. So we have accepted the fact...and he now has a potty patch and we love it.

| ![]() my Emy won't poop and pee on the same pad. She wakes me up at 4:00 am, I take her into kitchen where her pee pad is, and she immediatly pees on it and gets off it and lowers her butt and proceeds to poop, and she drags it out too, she poops and keeps moving so she usually has about 1 big poop and a couple little ones all in a line while shes moving. I wish I could get her to poop and pee on same pad. I think I will line the floor with pee pads when I go to bed so she can go from one to another in middle of night. LOL. She goes outside both with no problem, but pooping takes her forever outside to figure out where she wants to go, sniffing everywhere.... |

| ![]() lol, don't worry. he will go outside. I would suggest - When he potty's indoors and you praise him, say "good Potty" so he Knows what potty means. Also when you know he has to go you could bring him to his potty pad and say "Go Potty" and praise! So now he knows what that means -When you know he needs to go, take him outside and say "Go Potty". Wait only 5 minutes, if he doesn't go come back inside. If he tries to go to his pad, pick him up, go outside and repeat. He should go, as he would be pressed. -Next time he needs to go, take him to the same place, say "go potty" and the smell should also remind him what you're asking. -For pooping, I would suggest using a leash, some how, the sensation of "going for a walk" always makes Ziggy poop. My boy pees outside but wont poop there unless he is leashed and thinks we're going for a walk, or when we are actually on a walk. Also I think some things come with age, as he grows, he'll understand you better and will know what you're expecting from him Good luck with the training ![]()

| ![]() Choppa was this way. He would scratch the sliding door 30 minutes to get inside to go. I'm nervous about my new girl coming because potty training is going to cause a ruckus with DH. My sons insist on having them out to play even though that gives them time to potty in hiding. I'm trying to get a plan together before I get her.

| ![]() I am having the same problem with my little one, I have had her for a month and a bit now. She is nearly 16 weeks and I have got her used to going on pee pads. She has only had a poo and a pee once outside and I praised her so much but nothing. No matter how long I wait outside she would hold it and as soon as she came inside she would go on her pee pad. I am relieved to know I am not the only one! Also roughly how many times does an adult yorkie (about 1 year old) poo/pee? Please all experienced yorkie owners...we need your help! ![]()

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | ![]() Ok this may sound a bit gross but it works, trust me! IF you want your little one to go potty outside, you need to give them something to get excited about. There is nothing more exciting to a pup than the scent of poo. Next time your pup goes potty inside the house, pick it up and take it outside and place it in the potty area for later when you take your pup outside to go potty. Take him to that same spot where you put the poo and with encouraging words and your potty command tell him to go potty! Once he gets use to his own scent and after you have done the potty dance (jk) and praised him for a job well done he will get the hang of it. Add a tiny treat (a cheerio, green bean or pineapple) as a reward and he'll want to do what ever it take to get that treat, faster. Sometimes you dont even need a treat (food) a clicker will work just as well. For more info on training your new pup your more than welcome to look over my site for training tips that I have used to train all of my pups with great success!! Training Tips - Dawn's Yorkies Ohio

| ![]() They are creatures of habit. I don't know what to tell you. You are doing the right things. Maybe a liquid house breaking aid would help. Put it on the ground where you want him to go. Gracie was trained to pee pads first. I live kind of out is the wilderness so when we go for walks she can smell all the wild animals that have been through the area at night. She would smell the scent of those animals and try to pee really fast. I think she thought she was doing something bad. I would tell her she was a good girl to pee on the grass. It took a while to get through to her that it was an OK thing to do. |

| ![]() Our little Graysee was the same way. After about 6 months, she grasped the concept of peeing outside, but it took over a full year before we could be sure that she hadn't left a little pile of poop somewhere. Her favorite place was on the wool rug under the dining room table! ![]() ![]() |

| ![]() Take all his pads and put them right by the door, then when he's used to that, move it outside. Don't leave any pads inside, potty pads are a bad habit.. and also I think its gross :/ Gets smelly often etc., if he has to go, he has to go outside, but leave the pads outside at first, only outside , when he gets used to them, then take them away ![]() Eventually he will get this and do his buisness outside. Don't forget to say ''no!'' to him if he does something on the floor inside, and go straight outside with him. Good luck ![]()
