Actually they can go floppy from one minute to the next in a teething pup.

Hmmmm, you got a point there.

The second pup has a different facial structure than the first and the ears don't look the same. It looks like two different pups to me.

The image on the left is the photo we received at a little under 7 weeks of age. The image on the right is her now at 8 weeks. Is it possible for her to change this much in 11 days?

(We did see the puppy and litter (2 girls and 1 boy) twice before putting down deposit but it is hard to recognize the same pup as they grow. We're wondering if the girls were maybe switched. We'd love your assurances that this is the same dog as we set our hearts on the girl in the 7 week old photo).
It is just a suggestion, but maybe instead of asking the breeder about it call the breeder or stop by and say you want to visit with your pup. I am sure when you see the puppy in person, you will be able to tell if it is your puppy. Maybe she is passing off the sister as your puppy because she has decided to keep yours or God forbid something happened to your puppy. The only true way to know is to make a visit and make sure you see both the girls to determine if that one in the pic is yours or not. My breeder just admitted to me the other day that she does lie to her prospective parents when it benefits her. I do not think I will ever look at her the same again, so no matter how good a breeder is you always have to double check them to make sure you are getting the baby you picked out and wanted. Good luck. Please keep us updated. I would love to know how it turns out for you.

The pup on the right looks much stalkier then the one on the left but that could just be hair growth & a possible bathing. Still would not explain the drastic color change in the face in only 11 days time.

My thoughts exactly......DRASTIC color change in mask on the left from the right, in a very short period of time. Ears can go up and down with teething, even over night...but the ears on the left are definately narrower than the ears on the right...look at not only the top half of the ear, look at the base of the ear......much wider on right. I would want to, at the very least, see a picture of the other puppy....it would be better to see them side by side....

This is absolutely unbelieveable to me....unbelieveable she would risk her integrity if she gets caught doing this....unbelieveable she would EVER breathe a word of it to ANYONE, let alone someone she has sold a baby to before......unbelieveable she can look at herself in the mirror, or sleep peacefully at night, knowing she pulls a "switch and bait' deal on people she has TRICKED into trusting her....just UNBELIEVEABLE!!!!! NO ETHICS, NO INTEGRITY, NO GOOD.........

Another thing I notice is that the black going up from the nose to the top of the head looks like a big stripe in both pics, not the normal coloring IMO. Do both girls look like this ?

Hoping the breeder will get in contact with the stud owner so that we can just confirm that this is the dog we put a lot of emotional investment in. We soo love the girl we thought and still hope we're getting, it would be really painful to know she went to the other party. We're not very partial to looks just need to know its the same one.
I would like others input on this post here. Is it common practice for a breeder to do a pick of the litter when the pups are ONLY a week old ?

Pick of the litter is a breeder's best guess, and a sales pitch btw-

even an honest breeder using such promotions will say a scrawny runt may grow to be the real gem and pick of the litter even ay 12 weeks may turn out Chinese Crested looking (sorry).

the real pick of the litter a breeder makes will most likely never be available for adoption-that pup will be retained until maturity to see if it is show/breeding quality.

Yes, I get all this BUT can they really tell at only 1 wk old ? Even show breeders wait till the pup doesn't look like a hairy little sausage anymore, I mean they need to have a shape at least & at only 1 week they really don't so much & all look alike except for size.

Ypu'll have to wait for some breeders to post their expert opinins but I'll throw my 2 cents in again.

No no they cannot otherwise they wouldn't need to retain a pup that even at 12 weeks never turns out and is rehomed as a pet at a year-of course they have an expert eye and will retain the best based on their experience in look etc, but it's a gamble.

I've heard a few brerteeders saddened they petted out a pup they never expected to turn out to be show quality, and ended up rehoming the one they retained-also breeders often breed to another breeder's dog and get pick of the litter or buy from other breeders to have new blood (genes) in their line etc and they too admit they take a gamble hoping the pup they purchased will turn out otherwise they wasted money because they will end up just petting out this prospective pup.

I'm sure some breeders are very talented and can "spot them" quite early but guarantees at that age would be lies and unless they told you it's a gamble they'd be a liar.

I'm not a breeder by any means and certainly no expert on looks or otherwise, but to me this does not look like the same puppy...so where do you go from here, please keep us posted. This is some scary stuff...do breeders switch puppies for their own purposes? So I can pay a breeder for 'A' puppy and get 'B' puppy, provided I have some kind of proof, what would be my next recourse?

I have never seen the black mask on the face change that much in 11 days and the ears look totally different. I would say 2 diff puppies and also the 2nd one the hair on muzzle is shorter.
