Pick of the litter is a breeder's best guess, and a sales pitch btw-

even an honest breeder using such promotions will say a scrawny runt may grow to be the real gem and pick of the litter even ay 12 weeks may turn out Chinese Crested looking (sorry).

the real pick of the litter a breeder makes will most likely never be available for adoption-that pup will be retained until maturity to see if it is show/breeding quality.
