That's it. for a really special treat they get apple or raw potato. Tons of info on the internet but the main thing you have to think about is helping the pancreas not have to work hard. So that means he needs foods that are VERY easily digested. Hope that helps!

The nice thing about this is I am Sophie Kate on such a tight schedule with food that I can almost predict when she has to poop.

I will keep her on prescription food for the rest of her life if that is what it takes to keep her healthy.

I have the same result with Hills. Very firm, dark, healthy poo. Smaller portions but more times a day. I used canned and dry as well.

Hills. It took awhile for them to adjust. Diggy got a lil itchy in the beginning I stuck with it and its been 2 years. Working awesome now. When I speak of flare ups they are usually the humans fault. (my fault) I try SO hard to keep any table food away but its almost impossible. I drop 1 thing in the kitchen the vultures are ON IT! lol It happens but in time you learn the patterns of them I literally can tell with Diggy instantly. Hes a big baby and just a lil pain he is down for the count. Bella hides it well. Shes a lil brutis and hers sometimes is so bad by the time i catch it we have to go to vet. good news tho the vet now can just feel her belly, says yep hard as a rock and she gets fluids the meds and gone within a few hours. It sounds a lot worse than it is, its always scary cuz its your baby but it is very manageable and you get very used to it. Heads up tho, Pancreatis is VERY painful for fur babies. Bellas first sign is she cannot lay still or get comfy! I hate it for her.

Are they on I/D or W/D Do you know the difference? The vet just sent us home with 3 cans of W/D wet. That’s great that the food works well for your babies, this whole food thing is so stressful!! DH and I are going to try VERY hard to keep him away from anything… I know I was cleaning the counter table’s last night and guess who was trying to get the crumbs!! Little stinker-

I don’t know if Peanut just had a really mild case of it- when the Vet felt his belly he said it felt good, I saw the test and it was Positive for Pancreatitis. It had 2 dots and one of the dots was darker than the other- Peanut wasn’t showing any symptoms that your babies had- He did throw up and has really bad diarrhea Sat Morning, he was acting sickish since he ate that Texas Toothpick, but it was on and off- Really strange!

Another rx food that I have used that is the equivalent to I/D is Purina EN. I have two pups on it and they are doing well.

Thank you!! I just realized, he gained some weight! He is 5.4!! He was 4# the last time he was at the vet.. Diet and exercise will be a good thing.

Thank you- I guess I will know more when I take him in today to get retested and talk to the Vet about Diet. I am on my seat waiting for that test!

He doesn't take chicken well- He does well on, lamb, fish or duck. He has been on Acana for 3 years and has done well- I think now that I am cutting out all the junk food he we be much better!

I think your right. If Gracie would eat kibble, which she won't, Acana is one of the few I would consider feeding her. It seems to be great quality. Yes, I think the table scraps and the T.T. probably just was too much for him. I hope he is back to his old self soon.

Thank you- I hope so too- I have learned my lesson trust me- No more!! It is going to be hard, last night when we ate Peanut was right there waiting for bites!! I just put him in his crate until we were done. I didn't want him stressed out so I figured for the time being he will be better in his crate at dinner time. I know he will get use to it and soon he wont be begging for anything, but I know it is going to be hard!

I cleaned his toy box out, I found a couple bully sticks, threw those things out and I was able to return the Texas Toothpicks! Bad news those things are!

He will get used to it, but you might want to just keep something on hand that is good for him. Maybe some sweet potato pieces? My pups love them!
