| Do you ever? My husband gives me such grief about how I treat my dogs like they are human and stepson gives me grief when I have conversations with my babies saying they don't know what's am saying when I talk to them. Then there are the days when my husband swears I do more for the girls than anyone. I admit they are rotten but well mannered. I buy them gifts for there birthdays and Christmas. I let them snuggle up everywhere. I don't get upset like he does if they have an accident. I dress them up and pamper them esp now that I am home on medical leave I want to know do you guys ever hear these kind of remarks? I get upset with my family when they don't get my relationship with my girls. My love from them is unconditional and vice versa. Would any of you say that if your little one need something you would get it for them even if you had to give up something. Would you say your fur baby gets more frequent health care than you do? Do you buy them gifts for their birthday or exmas? I am just curious |

To answer your questions, yes I buy for my dogs more than myself. But I also buy for my kids more than myself. Yes, they get better health care than I do. But my argument there is that they are so tiny!! And yes, they get gifts for bdays and Christmas. And Valentines Day and any other day I can get by with!! You love your babies and there is nothing wrong with that. I think my DH finally realized how much I love mine when my sister talked to him. She made it very clear to him "Well you KNOW how Rhonda is about her babies". She told him that one day there would be a major traffic jam on the highway and it would be me with a line of homeless animals following my car! I think she made him see that I truly love animals. I wish I had some advice on how to handle your DH. Hopefully he will come around!

| I do spoil mine and I do hear from others about how "spolied" they are. I have only 1-son who is married now and who use to nag at me about how I tret them and then there is the they are only dog comments which really pee me off. They have feelings too and require love and affection just like us humans. My son even mentioned once, I am afraid I may be out of the will and "your" furbabies have taken my place. Well you'll see one day LOL I see nothing wrong with the attention, love that you give them. In my opinion you are a great Mommie! |

| My now husband knew when we got married Mollie was part of the package. It wasn't an option. When I want to get Mollie a sister we got Lizzie when I got Lizzie a sister he want a mini winne dog yet we got Abbie. I have converted him to a yorkie lover for the most part he just thinks I am OCD about them but honestly he is just as bad although he hates all the pink and the dresses and hair bows

| I haven't received any remarks. Yet. The only time there was a near-remark was when my sister rolled her eyes when I wanted to go to a restaurant where I can bring Tatiana. I bring Tatiana everywhere I go. She's family. As I written, Tatiana is family to me (as are my human relatives). In my heart, I view her that way, and it shows in my action. Thankfully, my husband feels the same way about her, so there are no remarks from him. I think if I ever receive any critical remarks from family members, I would say, "Tatiana is family, too." Also, my friends seem to understand that about Tatiana. They ask about her. |

| Hmmm...people are different... I just thought that maybe he is a little bit jealous at your babies as you spend so much time with them, spoil them and talk to them. Maybe your husband wishes that you would do the same to him, I mean, talk to him more, pay more attention to him, buy small presents time to time... I am sure he will get in better mood if you will pamper him a little more as well Good luck! |

| I am just in a mood today. I love my stepson, but he drives me nuts. He is 14 Nd knows everything. I have to remind him that Lizzie is the same age he is but with more maturity. He was this really sweet kid (ok he still is ). But that moth drives me nuts. He is always giving me snide remarks about the girls and how they r not children. I want ro was his mouth out with soap. Then I tell him to take the girls on a walk to remind him they have feelings too and what does he do starts texting his friends. Then mollie has an accident in his room and he yells at her WHAT the H*LL? Then do make me even madder at him he left his Dog and his sisters two little dogs out side in the hear and went ro his friends house now this was at his moms house but seriously what is going on in that teenage brain! Really fed up

| when I said I was getting a second one my brother called me crazy dog lady so I said don't be an idiot you have 3 kids I don't call you crazy boy man. I just happen to prefer dogs to children and although I don't dress them up all the time, they do have a couple of wee tshirts and coats for the winter weather. They snuggle with me and have full run of my place, they are very well mannered and love to play with each other. If under any circumstance my new puppy doesn't want to listen to me I say chicken and magically have his undivided attention. I love them and treat them with respect and dignity, I do not make a habit of picking them up and do not encourage others to do so, because I feel if they want to snuggle they will come to me. Although every morning they do get picked up for a morning wake up cuddle and kiss. I have pet steps for them to climb on the bed and on the couch. They are actually better behaved, less messy and better toilet trained than my sons two kids (one of which is a day younger than Teegy) |

YT 1000 Club Member | Someone razzing me about how I treat/train my Dogs, is speaking toward deaf ears. In fact, there's a frequent "mind your own business" phrased differently though, which is not near as polite. I think I probably raise my Dogs much like I did my Boys. Sorta on the "tough love" side of it. I'm rather strict, but, when it comes to Health Care, Dietary or physical requirements, there is absolutely NOTHING that gets in the way of facilitating their needs. They go to the Vet and Groomer several times a year and generally get the absolute best of everything. I think any immunity I may experience from those "caddy" comments, may be because I'm sort of a cogitity old guy, and that may deter some of it. If someone gets a little too forward, I've often told them... Don't mess with Old Dogs. Contrary to popular belief, many of them still have very good teeth ! HA, and I wondered for the longest time, why all my kids and dogs have Type "A" personalities.

| My husband and I both spoil them. I do buy Christmas and Bday presents and go to the dog bakery every chance I get to get them something fun I was just telling a co-worker today that I am so glad my husband feels like I do because if not we wouldn't have spent the money we have in the past 9 months on Georgie. Our Boxer is almost 13 and she has been the Vet a lot as well lately.

| I think I'm a little different to many of the owners here! I don't think I spoil my boy that much. I don't buy him that much, just the stuff he needs - nice harness, food etc. Although he does have a bandana...just so he matches me a little! He is with me 90% -100% of each day, so he does get a lot of my attention, but he is seen as a dog. I'm quite strict with him in some aspects....if he barks or pulls lead etc, but as he is so good, he rarely sees my bad side! |
