Hi everyone, this is my first time here...I have a problem and I'm hoping someone can help. My baby Lucy (yorkie) had a litter of 5 puppies 13 days ago, on the third day she Esbilac and I have been wiping them to make them potty, but even that does'nt seem to be going very well. Can anyone help me with this...I'm VERY scared and afraid I'm I'm diong something wrong.

What has happened???? The post doesnt make sense to me.....some lines dropped out or skipped over or something!!! Re-post and I will try to help you! I dont know how to get to another section....I think you can post here as well and we can help you!!!!!! I will be going to bed in a very short time...I am up with a momma, doing puppy watch....I will check back here often and see if I can help..........

Thanks everyone for replying... for some reason all my words did'nt post. Lucy has eclampsia, I just talked to the vet and shes doing much better thank God! She got sick sooo fast!! I finally got the pups to eat and potty and we're ALL feeling much better! : ) thanks again to everyone, I don't feel like I'm doing this alone anymore. : )

my thoughts exactly, please let us know exactly what happen to see if we can help you. in the meantime I guess you are tube feeding them esbilac?

I think we all forget that when someone new joins many of their posts are held for several hours and even a day, which makes it confusing to those trying to help because when they ask the new OP a question even though they type the response it does not post, then when it does show up, the post is the original spot which IMHO really confuses thread followers. I know why Admin does this but so often new people come on here really needing quick help but this post delay policy makes that hard and angers members willing to help. I have been on a lot of "topic" related forums and this is the only one that does that.

Thank you DBlain for the clarafication about what happens!!! I was so frustrated knowing someone was hollering out for help with babies and we couldnt get any response from her.....her 3:32am response that came between me and carmen, was not there until MUCH later in the morning....I am glad the babies are OK and THANKFULLY, she did not need URGENT help from us......I am new to these kind of forums and do not know about "delays" and "separate posting sites", etc.....I know only to check "Quick Links" and "New Posts" and that is it!

to me this rule is frustrating, I imagine it is in place to keep tools from coming on her jacking people around or members that are booted off from returning under a new name to resume a fight, but when you have a legitimate new OP needing help it's maddening. Perhaps in place of showing the post, it could read "new member, this post is under review", then poeple on the thread might understand what was going on. LOL maybe I will suggest that to the powers to be

Maybe there could be a place, a "tab" whatever you call it, where emergency calls for help from new posters, could all be placed without delay, so after we know these people need help, we can go to that "tab", "file", "folder", WHATEVER!, and follow up with them.....???

I've decided to only let her puppies nurse one or two time a day and I will do the rest of the feeding with esbilac. The vet at the hospital said it was ok for her to nurse but then her private vet said it wasn't a good idea...so ? Has anyone had experience with eclampsia?

Lord, yes! I would supplement momma with calcium now...how many babies did she have and how much does she weigh? Really good, attentive mommas can have issues with eclampsia because they are feeding frequentyly and their calcium level drops....what are you feeding your momma? She needs to be on an excellent food specially formulated for lactating mommas....You will absolutely need to supplement her calcium and it wont hurt to cut back on the amount of time the babies nurse...how old are they now? Are you a breeder with experience because this is like a house of cards.....the entire thing comes tumbling down if just one card gets catty-wompus...I need to know how much YOU know about what you are doing, before I can really be of much help.

Excellent advice. This answer is why some of us didn't post( two sisters, myself and several YT friends) It would have just been repeating the same thing.
