| Hey friends. I wanted to update further on Mator...we took him back to vet today...to see how his back was doing. I think it looks worse. The vet we saw today,is my favorite at the practice (who was out earlier in the week when we were there). Anyhow. The good news first: Mator is now up to 1lb 6 oz! WOO HOO...right direction! We also went ahead and gave him another wormer and his first shot. ![]() His fecal exam was still negative (they check them the first few visits). ![]() His heart/lungs sound pefect still ![]() Not so great news : This vet seems to think that its more of a fungal infection on his little back...possibly even a form of Mange, maybe from his mother, or other animals where we got him from, but said its not presenting as typical for those (mators is only on his back vs face/knees/ears, tail area, etc). Best case scenario its a severe severe case of dry skin. They scraped his little back in several places and are going to watch it and let us know if something grows, it can take up to 21 days, but often within a few days they will start to see something if something is there. We are no longer treating for the mites, as the treatment was not helping and they never actually saw the mites under the scope last time, that vet just said that sometimes you dont see them you only see evidence of them, there were none today either. Today the gave us a perscription antifungal shampoo, to help him get some relief (hes been trying to scratch his back more) and to help protect our family/other dog a little more and treat it (we obviously have to wash our hands and stuff religiously until we know what it is, as we should be anyhow. If it is fungal treating him with the fungal shots can have some side effects to their little livers, etc...so we are going to see if the shampoo helps, at least until we know what we are dealing with (what/if anything grows on the scrapings they took). So we are kinda at square one....but hes our little guy and a happy, sweet loving little guy...we will figure this out!

| Happy to see you and your vet are doing all you can to get to the bottom of everything. Praying little Mator continues his progress.
