| What about teeth gels and sprays?? I have been looking at different spays and gels and need some opinions on what is best? I have noticed that Prissy will not swallow anything that she can't chew, well that is different to me since Yoshi just out inhales stuff.

| The Plaqueoff had great reviews too, just sprinkle on their food..Now I am wondering if I can use it with the salmon oil that I put on Prissy's food? Dang, this is all getting too confusing..LOL I may need to get a job with all of the buying I have been doing since I got Prissy.

| Yes..but only for the first 30 days to get rid of the plaque..no food or water before or after for 30 minutes. I use it either in the morning after breakfast--or after dinner..again ..wait 30 minutes. Very impressed with the way it got rid of the plaque.

| I did some searching and this can be bought at Petco. It does sound promising and, it's teeth cleaning time around here so I might give this a shot instead. |

| Plaque off is great. When I first heard about it a few years ago I thought it was a joke. I used it on my very old dogs that had real dirty teeth and they were so old that it was very scary to put them under. After a few weeks the plaque on their teeth just flaked off, and it didn't come back. It's really easy to sprinkle a little bit on dog food each day. |

| Watch out for things like xylitol in a lot of the water additives. The only water additive, I believe, that has been tested and approved by the VOHC is HealthyMouth. But it's a bit pricey. But they did some good trials, etc. Lots have good results with Petzlife Gel/Spray. I use the gel on occasion when I don't brush. I try to brush every night with the CET toothpaste. It does contain some alcohol which makes some nervous. But I don't find it a big enough risk for my 16lb dog so I continue to use it. Oh and I do sprinkle some PlaqueOff on his food like 4 or 5 days a week. Don't know how much it makes a difference but I think it works.

| Thanks everyone,,Yoshie is over 6 and he had his teeth cleaned at the vet this past summer and I felt so guilty so I need to step it up. I mean to have one put under to clean teeth,,,honestly they didn't look bad at all but had them done. Now I hope to keep Yoshi and Prissy's teeth sparkling clean.

| I am so not good at cleaning Sprockets teeth and have them cleaned at the vets or the groomers. He just will not put up with the brushing, which is the kind I can use with just my fingers? And hope I won't get bit?

| I too need to find something for my Abby. She wants nothing to do with teeth brushing. She really needs something.

YT 2000 Club Member | I'd really give the gel a try. Mags LOVES having her teeth brushed with the tooth brush, but Jazzie HATES it, I don't think she's every had her teeth brushed before coming into our family. Jazzie totally excepts my putting my finger in her mouth with the gel on it though, doesn't fight me about it at all. I'm using the water additive to as an extra, all you do it mix 1 tablespoon to 16 ounces of water and pour it into their bowl.
