Thank you Beabble for readdressing this because yesterday I went to Feeders Supply and didn't buy Tropiclean products because they both have alcohol in them, I'm pretty sure the water additive had alcohol in it as well. I just checked with the pharmacist at my Vet's office but she was no real help. She wasn't familiar with Tropiclean and of course they sell other products, Biotene was one, I don't remember the others she named.

I'm really interested in using this but I'm scared to buy OTC and give things to them willy-nilly. If you get any assurance from your regular Vet, please post it. Will probably try Biotene.

Hi Camile, I actually did hear back from the doc I normally see at the vet, he said the same thing as Dr. Myers did, so I'm very comfortable using it. I just checked the ingredients on the water additive bottle again to make for double sure, and there's no alcohol in it at all. I understand you being leary of giving your pets just anything, I'm the same way. I researched the crap outta this product and read a ton of good reviews and actually know people that use it, plus it's all natural, so decided to give it a try.

I haven't given it to a puppy because I only heard of it when my now deceased older dogs were in their early teens. I do give it to my daughter's 4 lb Chihuahua, and I now give it to my Yorkie, Sparrow. They're both young adult dogs.

The Pro Den Plaque Off is just a special seaweed that developed a defense against bacterial biofilm. You use very little of the powder like 1/16th or 1/8th of a teaspoon. I use half of the little tiny spoon that comes with it.

It is a preventative and corrective because after a few weeks of using it my dogs' tartar flaked off and it didn't come back. If you use it when your dog has no tartar or very little tartar, then it will work faster, and it will keep the tartar off.

Thank you Beabble, I looked up the ingredients for Biotene and it has Sorbitol in it and that is sugar alcohol and I'm not knowledgeable enough about this stuff to know what the difference is, if any, in the types of alcohol. Probably tho, these products are all made similarly, and if one of them makes an alcohol, then they all, or most of them do. Anyway, thanks, I'm going back for the Tropiclean.

You're very welcome. So far I haven't had any issues with it with our furbaby. It took Jazzie a few days to get used to it, but she doesn't fight me on it now. With her though, I honestly believe she hadn't had a toothbrush in her mouth a day in her life, let alone a finger. The last two nights it's been very easy to put it on for her and she even lets me massage it in all over her teeth :-) Just remember, make sure you pick up any food or water 30 minutes before giving it to your furkids, and they can't have anything to eat or drink for 30 minutes afterwards. Good luck, I hope it works for your kiddos. One think I can say, Jazzie had some TERRIBLE breath when she came to us,and now, after using Tropiclean for a week, her breath is 100 times better, now I actually love getting her kisses

Thanks for the reminder. Mine have bad breath sometimes too but their "morning breath" is terrible. Didn't know dogs had morning breath but mine do. They sleep with me so I get a blast every morning. lol

I will, I'm going for it tomorrow. They are due a dental and I have been dreading it. I get so scared when they have to be put under for anything. I'll try this for a month and see how well it works, it won't matter to wait that long for their dental. I'll let 'ya know.

Oh I know what you mean. Mags has never been under for a dental, THANK GOD!! Her teeth are still in pretty good shape, I've asked doc if she needs one yet and he says no, so, I'm suing the Tropiclean in hopes to keep them in good shape. Jazzie has a lil plaque on hers, so we'll see how good this stuff works. I got the shampoo and cologne and Oh my does it smell so goodddd!! I used the shampoo on her for the first time today and WOW, what a difference. Her hair actually SHINES now, so far I'm pretty impressed with their products I've used so far.

I'll take a look at their shampoo tomorrow when I go to Feeders. I have been using Minksheen, my personal favorite, and Nootie, Cherry Blossom and really like them. Nootie dries out their fur a little but as long as I don't use it weekly, it hasn't caused any problems. Thanks for the tip.

I've heard alot about Minksheen as well, I hear it's pretty good. I actually asked them about it in a few pet stores and they said you can't buy it there. Is that something you can only buy online? Would like to get a hold of some and see how good it actually is. As for right now though, I'm really satisfied with the Tropiclean shampoo and cologne mist, Jazzie smells so good I could just gobble her right up, lol. And the shine is sooooo pretty, doesn't seem to dry her out, but today is the first day I've actually used the shampoo. I was using something else before and her coat was just dull and blah, no shine at all, now it's so pretty :-)

Oh my, just got BJ . My little Dee Dee I lost hated you getting in her mouth for anything. I always worried about putting her under. I better check these things before her baby teeth come out and I have to go through this again. I will check the products you all mentioned. I buy most everything at Petco. Anyone have any thoughts or shampoo? She only weighed 1lb.5 ounces when we got her and same when she went back for a shot. Four more times scheduled. She looks bigger to me and her ears came up. The lady told me she was 8 weeks but when I checked her AKC papers she was only 7 weeks. She never gets out but is getting gresy from my handling. I won't let people hold her until she gets a little bigger. I will put some pictures on soon but I lost my husband a month before I lost Dee Dee and haven't felt like putting them on.Thanks to All.
