| Capone has been doing so much better!! It makes me feel a lot better. He has been his usual self, still a little jealousy occasionally (He tried to sit on her head while she was sleeping on my lap, lol). But I have gone for walks with them both and they are pretty much attached at the hip now. They don't really play together but they are always side by side. Thanks for all the advice, time is the key. Still no luck finding Frenchy's (that's what we've named her) family. Vet thinks I could technically claim her as my own now. I have taken advice from you guys and took pictures of all the flyers I've posted and kept a copy of the newspaper and craigslist advertisements and got a letter from my vet saying she was scanned for a chip. Still going to wait a little tiny bit longer. I don't know who to contact about the lost animal laws in my area though.

Also now that some time is going by, take her to the vet do her vetting, get her chipped to you now, altered retain your documentation in her little folder or box with all her dogs stuff (Iam I the only one who does that?) file it away and enjoy. Personally I'd give it 3 months someone could be in the hospital or something but after that obvious well ya know...

| Today they were playing very well together!! It was so entertaining and I was so happy. They were both playing keep away with a toy and chasing each other and when they were tired they both came and dropped for a nap right on top of me. I feel so much better now, I felt like I was causing Capone so much misery at first and felt really guilty. I live on the border of two cities in OK and I called both animal control shelters (I have a found sign in both) and one said as long as I have had a sign in a public place with contact information for at least 5 days and the other said 15 days. So by both laws I am technically her new owner and do not have to worry about someone coming and taking her from me. I feel like I've done everything possible to find her family and if someone wanted her back they would have found her. So right after Thanksgiving I will take her to get chipped, fixed and vaccinated and add her documents to my dog file You're def not the only one who has one of those. In Oklahoma you have to have a license for each dog so I could get in trouble if I don't have her fixed and vetted soon.

| Thanks guys, I appreciate it, *blushing*. I just would want someone to do the same for me if Capone somehow escaped. I wanted to make sure I wasn't stealing someones dog. I hope we can now be her forever home, she jumped right in and made herself right at home from day 1 and I feel great now that Capone has warmed up to her. I'll post pics when I get home today and show you how cute she is. She is so tiny.

| I would suggest that you don't react/reward Capone's stand-offish behavior by petting him and or giving him treats while he is acting this way. I would continue in a life is normal manner and let him come to terms with his new family member. This isn't being mean or cruel, it is giving Capone the opportunity to overcome his issues and allow him to grow in a natural way. Capone will feed off your emotions - if you feel guilty about bringing a new dog into your family, Capone will certainly take advantage of the situation. |

| Here she is!! I had to cut all her hair off because it was so matted, but she has the cutest little face. We keep changing her name, so I still don't know what her name is yet. She's had 3 so far. Lucy, Frenchy, and Toni. My vote is Toni.
