| ![]() Add my Gwenni to the list of pups that demostrate this behavior. Its so darn irritating, luckily... I've now got Finnigan helping me fetch them back out. He's fantastic at retrieving once Gwenni has given up on the barking. I've tried to ignore the behavior, but she will literally stand at the spot an bark for hours if I'd let her. We're a work in progress I'll say ![]()

| ![]() We have a dual reclining couch so we can't remove the cushions. If you're reclining really far back there's a slight gap against the arm & side. Once in a while I lay back that far and anytime I'm sitting period Princess brings me a ball to throw. One day it accidentally fell in the "hole" and I had to basically climb under the foot rest reaching to the back where it was trapped to get it to get her quiet. This included moving the coffee table, etc. Then the little stinker figured it out & would deliberately drop it in the hole then freak out for it. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

| ![]() If You Don't Want To PLay Mommy Get IT. 1. Get it the toy , shake your head no and say firmly 'NOT NOW' put it out of reach and sight. Do Not Give Them The Toy. 2. Block hiding places under the furniture. (We used a two by four under the coffee table and a swimming pool float tube under the book shelves. They are easy to split or cut to size. 3. Teach your dog to play Find It. Find It, means go look for treats. At first you need a helper to hide the treats while you hold YorkieBaby on the leash. Let him see where the treats are being hidden. Remember use tiny, one bite, pea sized treats. Five is a good number. After the treats are hidden cue with, 'Find It' depending on your dog you can walk him to each hidden treat or let him off leash to find them himself. When he finds it praise with Good Find It. Tomorrow don't let him see you hide the treats. Use 4 of the same spots, one spot should be new. Play this every day. Slowly making the game more difficult. In about 10 days you can expand to other rooms in the house and even the yard. After two weeks you should be able to say Find It and just point to an area for him search. We teach this game and expand it to finding toys and only one Kong filled with treats.

| ![]() This is fairly new for her. She used to find random lost balls and stuff but lately I think she is doing it on purpose. She has the small kong brand tennis balls that squeak. I recently put an old ottoman in front of the living room window and opened the sheers so she can look out when I'm not home. When we are home we leave the door open and she lays in front of the storm door. The ottoman is not tight against the window due to a heat vent. She kept taking her balls up there and dropping them down. She did it too many times to be an accident. They are not normally chew toys so I don't think she dropped it while chewing. Then she sits there and whines until I come get it. I think it is a total case of "come play with me". Hubby didn't like it that she has now taken a place in the living room too! The family room floor is littered with chews and toys. It's like we have a 2 year old to pick up after again! At least she has NEVER chewed furniture or anything that wasn't hers. |

| ![]() Well he finally let it be last night for like 2 hours. I was going to go get the toy when he wasn't looking and hide it, but we didn't get a chance. Then like he say a rope tied around his finger or something, he just started running at the place where he last lost the toy. I'm going to have to be tough and take the toys away. Now the hard part... even if I get tougher... it'll be a battle of the minds between me and Harley to see who can train Daddy first... lol He is a very experienced human trainer. It took me a while to undo the "mommy come chase me under the bed trick" Next on my wish list along with solid furniture is a solid bedframe he can't get under.

| ![]() Day 2, and now he has lost 3 different toys to the top shelf. he tried crying, barking, and clawing his way up my leg into the chair to try and get the toys... He's also tried clawing at the original spot in hopes that it reappears. Here's hoping that this doesn't go on too much longer. but I'm trying to break him of it.

Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | ![]() Katie Scarlett does this, but she goes fishing under the couch for it herself. I keep telling her...'what you gonna do when you're too big to fit under there?' LOL.
