| ![]() The sad thing is that he still probably won't be cared for very well. I mean just because they took him inside doesn't mean they'll feed, water, worm and care for him... If he was a bag of bones, he should have been removed from the property. ![]() You did a good thing by calling authorities. I wonder if you would contact animal welfare if they would go check on him? Possibly remove him from the home.

| ![]() We tried the animal control officer first and were told it was a police matter. The cop when he came back last night said the guy had told him he had not been out there all day, he said he was had just changed the dogs food to something cheaper and the dog was not eating very well so he was going to change back. He also said he is going into the peace corps in about a month and the dog would be going to his brothers place. The cop told him I had offered to take the little one if they couldn't/ wouldn't look after him, he declined. The cop said to the guy, it is fine to have the dog out for a while, but not all day and make sure he at least has water, the guy said Ok uh huh I will. I think they saw me over there feeding the dog and decided maybe they better bring him inside, when I went over to feed him the lights were all out in the house so they had gone to bed and were just going to leave him out all night. The good news is the cops said, yes he is skinny, but I saw dog food in the house and the dog was laying in a bed in a kennel in the house.....so I guess that is good.....

Ugh! Going into peace corps and cannot even treat a little dog with compassion, leaving him out all day without water or food. Shameful! I certainly hope the brother has some compassion and love for dogs and will give him a real and loving/caring home. Love is not enough - an owner has to care for a dog, too. I applaud you more than I can put into words for doing all that you did and watering/feeding this poor baby, calling police and being his angel. Hopefully they will do right by this little thing until the move and we can only hope and pray a better future is in store for this little JRT!

| ![]() LOL ....I was on my way home from work tonight when my hubby called and asked me if I wanted to speak to Trooper Darling, I said ok, he proceeded to ask me what was going on and why there was dog food in the neighbors yard (I dumped a bag of kibble out there for the little guy)They called the cops and said "She called the cops on us last night so we are calling on her today" the cop just said I think this is a waste of State Troopers time. He told me he knew I was doing it in the best interest of the dog, but I am not allowed to go feed him anymore....... When he hung up with me he told my husband he was going to look at the dog and see what kind of shape he is in. I do not know how that turned out, but the dog is not outside....

| ![]() Oh, maybe progress is being made here. I'll bet if need me you can sure sneak that doggie food in the night in a more subtle manner should the need arise! Thank God for your intervention in this little dog's life.

| ![]() Well, they could say it but without anything to prove it was you and you're saying their words are just retribution for you trying to help their starving dog keep from dying, pictures of which you have showing its bones and reports to the police, nothing would come of it but some trouble - and the dog's life is worth it if you saved it some dire hunger pangs and misery. I would feed the dog under the circumstances that you had and be proud to do it. Still, TV has a point as long as the dog isn't so bad off.
