So mad We got new neighbors and they have a jack russell. This poor little guy has been locked out in the backyard, chained up for over 12 hours now, no food, no water, no shelter. I just called the police as it is apparently a police matter. They are coming out to talk to the owners and then to me, this guy is a bag of bones and I don't know if I would get in trouble if I just went over and got him. I just want to go bring him in and feed and water the poor guy. You can see every one of his bones.... |
God bless you for caring more for this dog that anything else! And thank you from all doglovers here. Bless his little heart! I'll be praying for him that maybe they can get him out of there - wouldn't that be great to get him to a shelter where he could get a real home with love and food and vets? Thanks, again. Great lady! |
That was a kind thing you did by not looking the other way as so many do.:) |
When the cop comes over to talk to me I am going to tell him if they can't/won't look after this guy to just let me take him. I will find him a rescue or something. My heart is just hurting for this little one |

Good for you for calling the police and not turning a blind eye to this suffering pup. |
I just went out there, and fed and watered him. I gave him a can of food then I gave him some chicken jerky treats, and dumped an entire bag of kibble on the ground. The lights are all off in the house and I am wondering if I should go get this little one....since I reported it to the police I probably better not.... |
Oh, that poor little guy! That is awful!!! |
Just talked to the police again they are on their way right now. This family has gone to bed and just left him out there.....we get fox and other mean little critters out there.....I sure hope they let me take him.... |
That is terrible! I know it probably wouldn't be the smartest thing to do... but I would be the type to go get the dog and bring inside, at least for the night. Poor guy. Thank goodness he has you to care about him. |
How sad poor little one |
The State police just left. The dog is inside now and they guy said it was not out all day....BULLS**T!! Cops are aware now and they told him that the neighbors are dog rescue people as my neighbor on the other side of me was here to and she works at the local shelter, they would be dumb to do it again. |
That little guy has a savior and he doesn't even know it. Thank you for getting him food and water and caring for a little one in desperate trouble. If I were there I would give you the biggest hug in the whole world. You are an angel and I am pulling for you to save this poor little dog. In some way, I believe you will help him eventually - even if they won't let him go at first. Once the police see his condition, they will get a talking to and either do better or you will have the police on the phone again and so on. Oh, I pray things work out for a real life for this little baby. Thank you again so much! Words can't say how much I applaud your actions!!!! |
We had the same situation a few years ago and the SPCA said they could not go in because the gate was locked. So, until they moved my husband lowered food and water over the wood fence to these dogs. Sometimes its just hard to get anything done. I wish we had animal cops like some of the cities on Animal Planet. I reported some starving horses about a mile from us and they told me they checked and they were not starving. I told her my dad raised Appolosias(sp.?) and I know what good hay looks like. Those horses were starving. Makes you so mad you can't hardley see straight. People are just ignorant. Maybe by some chance they would let you have the dog if they didn't care anymore than that about him. Hope so. Good luck and bless you for trying. |
Oh Shannon how awful ! You are such a good person to get involved. My Granny's highest praise was, "When God remembers you did this, he will smile." |
