| Rude people So I have been pretty lucky I guess to have a bigger/teapot yorkie and never have anything mean or nasty said to me. Well the record is broke! Me and my grandma took Callie to Petco after her vet appointment today. Well this lady her son and her dog came up to us, so Callie and the dog sniffed each other. Well this was our convo: Lady: Shes cute Me: Thanks Lady: What is she? Me: A yorkie My grandma: Yep a bigger yorkie Lady: Yeah shes fat I was so shocked I just stood there so was my grandma we just looked at each other and the lady walk away. Callie is not fat she might be a tiny bit Chubby but is not fat! I used to read how some of the things you could say back to people when there rude but one my anxiety really sorta keeps me from doing that and I was just to shocked to even think. Why do people say things so rude like that? It really bothers me because I was picked on in school for being fat and I cannot believe some one called my baby that it makes me so upset. I thought after we got into the car my grandma was gonna go back inside and give her a piece of her mind after she had a minute to think.

| I'm sorry, it feels crappy when people are rude doesn't it. Some people just have no filters or manners! Haven't been on walk yet here in the UK with Rosie without at least one comment. Our walk today on the high street was short as we had errands while there, ran them and left. So today's comment... 2 teen age to young adult girls and 1 guy: As we walk by we hear OMG look at that dog! By one of the girls. The guy chimes in with, that's not a dog, it's a hamster! and they all let out a loud laugh. We just kept walking and ignored them. I don't get it. Rosie is 5.5 lbs, so not like the tiniest Yorkie ever. Have they never seen a small dog before. My DD thinks her harness and pink leash don't help the situation. Her harness is a Pinka vest harness and yes cute but not like she is walking the high street in a dress and boots or something. She has me half wondering if I should just get a plain black harness and leash and see if that makes a difference. Might be a fun experiment BUT I will not stop using things for her that I think are cute because of ignorant comments. I think I may just try it for a few days and see if we get a different response. Hugs to your baby!

YT 1000 Club Member | Oh, that is so inconsiderate and rude! My Romeo is somewhere between 15-16 lbs and he is ALL YORKIE. I often get the "what breed is he" look from people but I keep walking without a comment. Romeo will not allow someone to pet him until he's done sniffing out their face and hands. I've had instances where people have walked up and stuck their hands in his face and he will show them teeth and growl -- I almost want to say "serves you right for trying to touch my son!"

| They have to be jealous. They just don't know what their missing. I've had people tell me, she looks silky. She is a silky right? Me: her registration says yorkie. The end. When we were in the Smokies, I will say, everyone was so kind and free with their compliments. Keep in mind some of these people just don't know true love from a four legged fur babie. |

| Well, good thing I wasn't with you. Grrrrr. You are one of the sweetest, nicest people on here, and your Callie IS NOT Fat. She is adorable just look at that little face. I would have said something rude back like , "Oh she is not fat, she is just full of good manners and God's love. I wonder what You are full of ?" I know later, I would have felt guilty for saying a smart remark ..... but honestly she deserved to be put in her place.

| Callie is a pretty girl! What is this woman's problem? Maybe next time you will have to say, "She can always lose a little weight, but I'm sorry to say there is no fix for stupid." Ok, I wouldn't have said it, but I would have thought it REAL HARD!

| I'm sorry that person was so rude with a comment like that. There is no way your Callie is fat...she is just precious Don't you give it a second thought....she's so not worth it. I feel sorry for her that she isn't graced with the yorkie love. Aren't we just the luckiest in the world to have our babies. Just looked at my Zhoie girlie butt laying beside me and just had to lean down and kissie her sweet head. Hugs))) to you and kisses to sweet Callie!

I can't even count how many times my kids have been insulted! "...its a rat!... nice mouse... is that hamster wearing a dress?..." I think its often jealousy, or ignorance that we don't find those endearing terms. And (as my husband always tells me), that for every rude thing that is said there has to be at least 10 x the compliments. He also tells people, "you'd better not let my wife hear you say that, or she'll come at you like a spider monkey!" I also just just inform them that their comment is not appreciated. Insulting a little dog... how sad. | |

| Seriously, people never cease to amaze me. Since when is it ever appropriate to comment on a lady's weight??? Was the woman overweight? I swear, that comment just might have made me forget my manners... I would have felt the need to comment on the woman's weight... but then I have a temper at times. As it has already been said, please don't give this mean person a second thought. She is just not worth your precious time!

| People can be SOOOO rude. If anyone ever told me Jackson was fat just because he's a bigger Yorkie, I would be like WTF. He's one of the most in-shape dogs I know (I wish I had his body! LOL) I remember my grandma once picked him up and said "oh he's gaining weight!" but she was drunk after a few glasses of wine when she said it, but it still kind of hurt me... because I do my best to keep him in the best absolute shape possible and sometimes I think he's TOO skinny, but he's very muscular and in shape, and her dog is pretty overweight and can't even go on a 10 minute walk without being completely out of breath... I could say a lot of mean things about her dog but I don't?? It just does not make sense to me when people make mean comments!!!
